CHAPTER-23.

God was silent to his questions,like He always was..And Prithvi covered his face in a last unsuccessful attempt to control his turbulent emotions..As heart wrenching pain, wreaked havoc through his entire system and he desperately tried to stop the tears that silently fell through his eyes..

Tears of rage,tears of frustration,tears of helplessness,tears at being left all alone in the world to fight all the battles himself...An unbearable pain,at finally being able to understand the TRUE and REAL meaning of the word ORPHAN made his insides shatter to countless shards of pieces..Each piece piercing his soul and heart and mind into tatters..

"I'm alone..I'm all alone..No one can help me out of this..No one to tell me it's gonna be alright.."He whispered out in a choked tear drenched voice..

Finally Prithvi controlled his raging emotions and calmed up himself..His insides might be a total chaos and a mess but that was where it would stay..Inside..He wiped out the last traces of tears from his eyes..He had learned to hide his real feelings with time..So this time would be no exception..Besides he had a promise to fulfill..And he would not dishearten his father at any cost..

I've promised..I have to keep my promise..Prithvi thought as he a took in a shattered breath..

A calm,cool and confident Prithvi quietly walked into the haweli..His face a cool mask of indifference..His attitude of a man who had complete control of his life and emotions..A man who looked completely opposite from the one who was just shattered outside,only a few moments ago..

"Namaste Panditji."Prithvi greeted the old pandit sitting on the hallroom sofa.

"Namaste Prithvi beta.."Replied the man with a warm smile.."You have grown so big from the last time I saw you.."The man said in an awed voice..

"Yes..I guess so.."Prithvi replied with a polite smile..

"You had to wait long for me?Sorry for that-"

"No beta,it's okay..I am coming from Thakur Haweli.."Said the pandit..

"Thakur Haweli?!"Prithvi asked in an amazed and confused voice..

"Yes beta..Sudha Thakurain sent me to you.."Explained the pandit,which baffled Prithvi even more.

Kaki?!!Does she also know about my...Prithvi's thoughts were broken when Pandit continued to talk.

"She asked me to do the required puja rituals,on your behalf..Those that are considered a necessity and is also best for your future and well-being..Since you have started living in this haweli,which has been empty for a long time,now.."Explained the pandit..

"Oh..Puja..?"Murmured Prithvi as understanding dawned..And at the same time relieved,that he did not have to face his inevitable fate,just yet..Panditji had not come here to seal his fate,yet..

"Sudha Thakurain,also asked me to send her apologies to you,if you think she is interfering..She said she forgot to mention this to you in the morning,so.."The man drifted to a silence,unable to decipher anything out of Prithvi's blank look..

"Apologies?!"Exclaimed out Prithvi."What's there to apologise for?!I'm actually glad she asked you on my behalf."Prithvi reassured the old pandit with a smile.

"So..When would you like me to do the puja?"Asked the pandit..

"As soon as you can..I'm sure you are a very busy man,Panditji.."

"Ok..I'll fix the date,and let you know.."Said the man.

"Ok,Panditji,"Prithvi said,suddenly getting up,afraid the man might bring up the topic he did not want to discuss just yet.."You can let Ramu kaka know about your requirements for this puja.."Prithvi finished with a smile as the Pandit also got up to leave.

"Just remembered something..Beta,Ramu had said you wanted to see me..Is it-"Panditji was interrupted by a sudden chaos outside,as a worried Ramu kaka ran into the hallroom..

"Prithvi Beta,it's some villagers..Most of them!They want to talk to you..And seem very angry.."Said an out of breath Ramu kaka,looking worried..

"I'll see what they want."Said Prithvi in a calm voice,as he walked out to the front door,and panditji and Ramu kaka followed him in his wake..

"Your father betrayed us!"The villagers screamed.

"Now why are you here?!To bring us more trouble?!You Khannas have brought the bad luck on this village!"Screamed another villager,and numerous shouts of supports followed..

Calmly Prithvi raised his hand,silently asking them to quieten up..And as if they could understand the calm rage and barely controlled temper they had ignited in Prithvi,they all stopped shouting at once.

"I am here to fix every mess that you people think my father created.I will solve your problem.This is my promise to all of you villagers..And I,Prithvi Khanna,never break a promise.."He finished in a cold and deadly voice to the awed crowd.Saying this,Prtihvi quietly nodded a polite goodbye to the equally awed panditji,and strutted away into the haweli towards his bedroom..

Thunder bolted in the dark night sky,as a storm brewed ,and Prithvi silently stood at the window..

My fate is sealed.Dad,I will free your name from all black marks..He thought silently,and closed his eyes,as images of his dad and him having good times together or arguing flashed through his mind..

"I'm missing you dad!"Prithvi cried out with a sudden sob..And covered his face as the storm he had kept locked inside him broke loose,in an endless stream of tears..

"Come back to me,dad!Please,come back to me!I really need you right now!"He sobbed out,as he knelt down on his knees..The loud thunders were not strong or loud enough,to drown Prithvi's heart wrenching sobs,as it echoed through the empty and forlorn Khanna haweli..

Meera stared at the sky coloring with thunder lights..A loud thunder fell somewhere almost splitting the sky apart,but she stood at the window,unperturbed..

A silent tear fell from her eyes,and she bit her lip hard,to prevent the sob that was about to burst out from her lips..Another loud thunder crashed somewhere,and the sky broke loose as torrential rain started falling..

And as if following the storm,Meera's held back tears also started falling from her eyes..Her eyes clouded with the constant stream of her endless tears,she silently watched the rain that almost soaked her through the open window...

Lovely chapter! Why did our fuming beauty cry?? Hmm...it ended on a very interesting note! Every time I read this ff, I want to thrash the CVs for not being able to come up with a good story like yours. I stopped watching the darn show, thanks to the half baked crap a$$ storyline and senseless characters.

Awww ... the poor things - so much sadness in Prithvi - his tears and pain were heart rending.

Tehsina now I am going to scream!!! Pls reveal the secret!!! dying to knw what is it Prithvi has promised that he would do!!!
