Gant chart and milestone chart

Hi,
I know this is not the right forum, but i need some help.!
What is the difference between milestone chart and gant chart?

I have made a milestone plan showing which targets that are in the project, when to be ready-made.
Then I made a gantt chart where I have written the time that I have used tasks, to see if I have reached the milestones I had put if I'm behind.

Is this the right way? Plz help :(

Mile stones are part of Gantt chart . Usually a task that is very important and one easily can recognise where they stand in that project. For eg: mile stones on highway which tells you you travelled some distance and how close you are to your destination.
