I am back with the update. Thank you everyone, for liking and commenting.

This update goes to Baaji aka iris_iris2. She guided me n encouraged to start this SS n gave a different view of thinking. Love u Baaji. 🤗

CHAPTER 5

The couple was greeted by the entire Raizada family. Everyone was happy to see them back except one person who tried to smile but her smile didn't reach her eyes. Anjali was upset but the reason was unknown. Arnav n Khushi did realized that but decided to ask her later. Even Aarav was back from his tournament, his school winning the first prize. Arnav n Khushi went to their room to freshen–up.

Arnav – Khushi don't u think Di is upset?

Khushi – Yes Arnavji I also found her a bit lost. I think we should ask her.

They both were concerned for Anjali. After getting fresh n having lunch with the family they went to Anjali's room and found her gloomy.

Arnav kneeled down near Anjali n Khushi sat beside her, keeping her hand on her shoulder. Getting the support from Khushi Anjali hugged her. Her eyes were moist.

Khushi was now more worried.

Khushi – What happened Di? Why r u upset?

Anjali broke the hug and wiping her tears, she gave a letter to Arnav which was kept on the side table.

Arnav went thru the paper n looked back at Anjali. Anger was evident in his eyes which he was trying to control.

Arnav – Di trust me, we are with u. U don't have to worry about anything.

He held both her hands n gave in the utmost support he could give. Khushi who was still not aware of anything was busy support her sister silently.

Anjali – I don't wanna see his face again Chotte. I feel disgust to even think about him, forget seeing him. (Anjali was sad n angry at the same time.)

Arnav – But Di we cannot avoid this. U will be required at least in the court during the session. (Arnav tried to explain.)

Khushi was alarmed listening to the word court, now she had to ask him what was going on.

Khushi – Why will Di have to go the court Arnavji? What is there in these papers?

Arnav – Khushi these are courts orders regarding Shyam's case and Di needs to go to the court to give her statement. (Arnav replied controlling his anger.)

Now Khushi knew the reason n what she had to do to sort this out.

Khushi – Di, I will not say that I understand ur condition, but trust me Di some things ought to get finished asap. It does give us pain, but this pain will be short lived. But if we will run away from these things they will haunt us forever. And more over Di we are doing this for our rajkumari (princess). That person needs to get punished and that to by u. And Di why do u worry when we all r with u.

Arnav who was angry was now a bit relaxed and was feeling proud of his wife. He never understood how she was able to able to find solution to every problem. Anjali smiled at Khushi thru her tears n hugged her.

Anjali – Khushiji thank you.

Khushi broke the hug n replied.

Khushi – Di u know jiji never said thank you to me. And u like my jiji so u should also not say thanku to me.

Anjali – K Khushiji I will not say thanks to u. (She replied with a smile.)

Khushi – And jiji calls me Khushi not Khushiji.

Anjali – But Khushiji… (She tried to say something but Khushi spoke.)

Khushi – Di please, Khushiji sounds so formal.

Anjali – K Khushi.

With that they shared a tight sisterly hug. Talking about their trip n some other stuff for some time they went to their room.

Arshi in their room.

Arnav – Khushi the hearing in 15 days. We need to be with Di all the time. It will be hard for her to go thru her past again.

Khushi – Don't worry Arnavji Di will be fine. We will always be there with her. But Arnavji she has to do it. Shyamji cannot be left without punishment.

Arnav and Khushi both were worried for Anjali. After dinner they spend some time talking and after taking the complete dose of his kiss from his not so shy wife they drifted into a sleep in each other's arms.

Next morning after Arnav left for office everyone was sitting and chatting. NK had left for Sydney in the morning coz of some business work.

Aarav came to Khushi's room after lunch.

Aarav – Mom I want a new iPad.

Khushi – What is iPad Aarav? (She was confused)

Aarav – Mom it's a gaming device which NK Chachu had. I used to play when he was here, but now since he has gone I want one for my own.

Khushi now understood what Aarav was talking about. She had seen NK n Aarav playing games on it. She thought for a while and n then felt that Aarav being a kid doesn't require it and that to when he already had a video game.

Khushi – Aarav beta (child) u don't need it, more over u already have a video game at home. U can play on it.

Aarav – It's a play station mom, not a video game. But I want an iPad. (He was adamant.)

Khushi – Try an understand Aarav, I am your mom n I know what is right for u my child. It's time for u to study n u r busy with games. (Khushi tried to explain.)

Aarav – I study mom, n I get good marks in team exams. (Aarav replied a bit rudely.)

Khushi – I know u got good marks but u can do better. Ok let's do one thing, u score 85% in finals and I will gift u an iPad. Deal.

She tried being like his husband. After all Aarav was like his father. So may be he would agree to it.

Aarav thought for a while. He had never got more than 70% n scoring 85% was impossible. 'Mom knows that I won't be able to score 85% that's why she is saying so', he thought.

Aarav – No mom I don't agree with u on this. I want an iPad and that's final.

He spoke those words n barged out of the room. Khushi was again depressed. Whenever she attempted to bridge the gap b/w her n Aarav circumstances never supported her. 'Should I get him one? No Khushi u shouldn't do that. He is a kid, he hardly knows what's good or bad for him. U need to be strict. What if he will not talk to u? At-least it's better than giving him iPad n spoiling him.' She kept thinking n then finally decided that she was right.

Aarav on the other hand was upset. Although he had accepted Arnav as his father but it was a bit hard for him to replace Sheetal n accept Khushi as his mother. He did try to accept her but Khushi's strictness drifted him away from her. 'I know dad loves me a lot. I will ask him. He will get me an iPad.' He mentally noted and was back to his basketball practice.

Aarav hardly used to study the whole day. Either he used to play basketball or PS. And rest of the time he was pampered by Nani, Mami or Anjali. Khushi was worried for him but was not able to do anything.

After dinner when Khushi was busy in the kitchen with other ladies Aarav quietly sneaked in Arnav's room. Arnav was working on his laptop. He went near him and stood quietly. Arnav raised his eyes to find Aarav staring at him.

Arnav – Hey big guy what r u doing here? Don't u have to sleep?

Aarav – I just wanted to talk to u so I came here. Will sleep in a while.

Aarav was a bit nervous. He didn't knew how to start n how to ask, but he had to ask him. He was also in a dilemma that what will happen if mom would have already told dad about that iPad thing. He might get angry with him. But he had to talk to him. So collecting all his strength he tried to speak when Arnav spoke.

Arnav – Aarav why r u so much worried. Tell me what is it?

Arnav could read a discomfort on Aarav's face so he tried to relax him.

Aarav – Dad, when NK Chachu was here I used to use his iPad for playing games. But now he has gone, so I want an iPad of my own. Can I have one?

Arnav without thinking anything replied.

Arnav – Of course u can Aarav (but then he thought something and then continued) but only after your mom permits u.

Listening a yes from dad made Aarav happy, but that happiness vanished listening to mom names. Arnav first agreed for iPad but then Khushi's point of view came to his mind. He decided that he will not give Aarav any extra luxury without Khushi's consent rather permission. Khushi was a better judge then him.

Aarav knew that his mom would never let him have an iPad so it's better to convince dad.

Aarav – Dad please buy me one iPad. (He requested.)

Arnav – Aarav why don't u ask your mom? If she will find it useful for u then u can go with her n buy one. (He explained.)

Aarav – But dad mom thinks it's useless for me, n more how will she know what is good for me. She has never used such things. (He replied a bit sarcastically.)

Arnav was explaining him n here he was commenting on Khushi. Khushi did said a no to him n den too he was here to ask him. Now he was angry with him.

Arnav – That's it Aarav. It's high time u start respecting your mom. And don't u dare say any such thing about her. She is always worried for n here u r least bothered for her. Last time u misbehaved with her n broke the vase. It was your first mistake so ignored it, but this will not happen every time. This is the first n the last time I am telling u Aarav, if I see u misbehaving with your mom, u will be punished. And regarding your requirements u will ask her. And it will be up to her to fulfill it or not. Have I made myself very clear?

Arnav was angry so he replied a bit rudely. He was not happy with Aarav's behavior. But he didn't noticed moist eyes of the kid. Aarav felt bad after getting scolded from his dad. 'Mom is a bit strict but she has never scolded me like this.' He thought. Aarav was highly upset. He said a sorry to him n went to the poolside and sat on the chair.

Arnav noticed his sad face n felt bad on scolding him. May be he should try to explain him in a different way. He too went to the poolside and sat beside him.

Arnav – K Aarav tell me like whom do u want be when u will grow up.

Arnav tried talking to him in a different mood. Aarav was a bit gloomy but replied.

Aarav – Like u dad.

Arnav – So to become like me u should know what I used to do when I was of your age.

Arnav asked him. He just nodded in return but his interest started building in the conversation.

Arnav – U know I used to study a lot, eat healthy food, sleep on time, play basket ball, used to follow what my elders used to say n most importantly I never denied my mother's words.

Aarav was grasping whatever Arnav was trying to explain him.

Arnav – Aarav I still remember what my mother has taught me n I implement it in my life to get success and happiness.

Arnav recalled his marriage where his mother's words helped him to forget the past n marry Khushi n move ahead in life.

Arnav – I am telling u from my experience Aarav, no one can be a better teacher, guide or friend then your mother. She will always be their u, whether u need her a not.

Aarav was listening to his dad seriously. Arnav knew that this will take time, but surely things will be perfectly fine between them.

Arnav – Aarav it's getting late, I think u should sleep now. Gud nite.

Aarav – Gud nite dad.

He stood up n crossed the french window of Arnav's room to go to his room. Khushi entered her room n saw Aarav coming from poolside. Aarav was not even looking at her. She knew Aarav was angry with her n will not talk to her. She kept looking at him n felt bad but couldn't help. Aarav walked past Khushi without looking at her. But then he stood near the door and turned around.

Aarav – Gud nite mom. (He smiled at Khushi.)

Khushi first was surprised but then felt extremely happy. She just ran to Aarav n kissed n hugged him.

Khushi – Gud nite beta.

Aarav went to his room. Arnav who had witnessed all this was a bit relieved. At least Aarav took his first step towards Khushi. Now may be it will be easy for Khushi to handle him. Arnav entered the room and hugged Khushi from behind after closing the door.

Arnav – Khushi Aarav's dad also want a gud nite kiss.

Khushi turned around and came close to his face. Her left hand was on Arnav's shoulder n kept her right hand on his eyes closing them. She whispered "Good Night Arnav" in his ears and kissing him on his jaw line dashed in the bathroom.

Arnav was completely lost. The girl he took along with him to Maldives and the girl he came back were poles apart. 'Was she his Khushi or her duplicate? And she called him Arnav' he thought. His name sounded so perfect from her.

Arnav decided not to tease her. He loved this bold side of Khushi and wanted to maintain it. After taking his complete dose of kiss they both slept in each other's arms coz Mr. Raizada was not ready to stay away from his not so shy wife at least on the bed.

Next morning Anjali went to temple like every other day. Nani was feeling a bit tired so she didn't accompanied her. While Anjali was climbing down the temple stairs her sari got entangled in her legs n she was about to fall when two strong arms held her. His one hand was on her shoulder and the other arm was wrapped on her waist. Anjali's thali was on the floor. Her eyes were shut due to fear. Although she felt herself in strong yet firm grip she was too scared to open her eyes.

Man – Relax. You are fine now.

She heard a husky voice n opened her eyes to find herself in the hold of a talk, smart n handsome man (a little less then My Arnav 😉).
