Writing for Udhay the critique is a task in itself. So, did I pass?

"Remind me, what is it we are doing again?" Madhu asked completely focused on sucking on the straw in her drink.
"Lunch date", Rishabh fumbled on the last word in an almost inaudible voice but she caught it.
"Dream on Kundra". The straw was now out of the glass and it looked as though she intentionally swung the remaining drops of liquid at him. Luckily, she missed him by quite a bit. One of the perks of dating a blind woman, he thought. Dating, not exactly but he knew his charm would get him there eventually.
"Well, in that case, my usual rules don't apply. Tell me about your love life".
Curiousity killed the cat. All that and more be damned! He couldn't rely on rumours to get his daily fix of Madhubala. The words had to come out of her mouth. He had to know if what other men said about her rung true.
"That's a stretch, don't you think? Not like you told me anything".
"I'll buy you a tabloid on our way out. Pretty sure it has my life history", his fingers were getting dangerously close to hers.
"If they have a braille version, I am all yours", she intentionally picked the words that would pinch. That's what banter was supposed to be like.
"So...tell me", the extended length of the phrase indicated a whine. Boy was he impatient.
"What do you want to know?"
Her body language opened up as she let go of her fascination with the exotic drink.
"Everything".
"Let's start with a story, shall we?"
Rishabh quickly wiped the food crumbs off his face and braced himself for a bumpy ride.
"I had one serious boyfriend back in college, Nishaan. I took him to my dad. I knew it wasn't my brightest idea but, the meeting only sealed my doubts. He was a trainee pilot and my dad was a retired Group Captain for the Air Force. Nishaan somehow decided it was a good idea to race him to the hilltop in the C-130Js they had laying around at base. Needless to say, he lost and I never saw him again. After that, I just stuck with anyone who came around".
She noticed Rishabh's sounds had changed from genuine laughs to an unsteady breathing pattern. It was time to steer away from the subject.
"I don't take myself too seriously. Men come and men go, it's a way of life".
Rishabh was about to formulate his scattered thoughts into words when she spoke up again.
"That man to your left, describe him to me. Is he tall, dark, handsome?"
Oh no, she was not about to flirt with another man! Not on his date, not under his watch.
"Pay attention to me. I. This guy", he clung on to the first limb he could find on her and switched seats so she was now shielded from the tall man who had been stealing glances at her.
As the waiter approached them with their bill, Rishabh just had to ask, "so, do you have any stray children running around that I don't know about?"
"I don't know", she feigned innocence. "You are going to have to ask the pregnant dads about that one".
Now, that was a good night.
