SP: 'I hope I don't disappoint Soorajji,': Sandhya

Bhabho gave me three chances to prove myself as a bahu. If I make more than three mistakes, then I will have to forget my dream of becoming an IPS officer.

I deliberately failed at the first task. If I make two more mistakes then it will surely put an end to my dream. The first pot has been broken. My husband, Soorajji has always been supportive of my dream. He has always done everything in his power to help me out. My mother-in-law, Bhabho, i.e. Santosh however is not keen on girls getting an education. She believes it is not necessary.

When I found out that Bhabho had given me liquor chocolates a day before my exam so I may fail, It crushed my spirit. I felt very demotivated. That is when I decided to give Bhabho satisfaction by agreeing to faults that were not mine. I did this with a heavy heart. I do not wish to disappoint Soorajji in any way, but as of now I feel very defeated. I am torn between the happiness of my family and my wishes.

I d not wish to disappoint Soorajji. I cannot afford to. I wonder what the coming days will bring. What does the future hold for me? Will my dream ever become a reality?
