Talking Point: Anuj Saxena
Why not? I'm basically a businessman and an industrialist. I took this decision because I want to grow and do different things. In retrospect, I think it's a good decision because the media is a good industry to be in. * So will you quit acting?
No I won't. I'm doing a show on Sony right now and I'll be doing another one for Aroona Irani on Sahara. * How involved are you as a producer?
Completely. I sit in on the edits and I'm even involved with music. It's my first show, so I can't afford to go wrong. * Why did you choose to make a family drama?
At the end of the day, TV is about family and soaps. I wanted Kulvaddhu to be different but not too different. With the success of Saat Phere, Betiyaan and Dulhann, we can tell that people are ready to watch different things. It's not a typical saas-bahu drama because I'm not too much into them. * So then you won't work with Balaji anymore?
Life's short and the industry is too small. If she offers me something, I may just do it. I'm starting out and am too small to compete with anyone. * Then why use the letter K?
That you'll have to ask Sandiip Sickand. The name was not my idea. I'm not superstitious. I just believe in God and myself. * How did you manage to get Kitu Gidwani, who hasn't been doing too much TV lately, to join the cast?
We wanted actors who would fit the bill perfectly. They loved the show, and the concept. If you can prove to them that you want to do good work then they'll work with you. I've pulled off a casting coup with Milind Gunaji, he's making his TV debut. * What else is Maverick Productions working on?
I've got a couple of shows coming up. We'll also be doing documentaries, ad films and plays.
