Many Vampire Diaries fans have their favorite pairings amongst the characters, including those who haven't gotten together — yet. When Wetpaint Entertainment spoke with Arielle Kebbel at the ATX Television Festival in Austin, we had to know what she thinks of a potentialStefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) romance — since her character Lexi seems all for it.
First things first, Arielle pointed out that Stefan has some business to take care of before he can work on his love life. "He's in love with getting out" of his watery grave, Arielle jokes. But once he's back on dry land, she agrees it isn't inconceivable that Caroline and Stefan may get together. She says, "There's definitely some sexual tension between them, on purpose."
After all, Lexi dropped some not-so-subtle hints about it at the end of Season 4. "All of that, although it was said in the typical Stefan-Lexi joke-y form, there's some — it's very loaded, and it's very real," Arielle explains. "And that was my job as Lexi's character to deliver that with deliberate light-hearted, but let him know... I'm cutting to it. There's no bulls**t there. I think that there's absolutely room to explore there."
Since we'll never see a Stexi romance (at least, according to Arielle), it might make sense that Stefan takes it to the next level with another hot blond.
