Saif stalls Bebo-HR pairing

It was more than a decade ago that there were rumours about Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor's alleged liaison. The two were touted to be Bollywood's hit jodi after Shah Rukh-Kajol and Amitabh-Rekha, until they were pressurised to stop working together by their respective families. But things haven't changed much even now. Apparently, Karan Johar made an attempt to get the two back together on screen for his next film Shuddhi. But this time, it was Bebo's hubby Saif who made his discomfort very evident and stalled the pairing.

"Saif and Hrithik have worked together in the past and have a lot of common friends, but they aren't buddies. Saif isn't insecure about Kareena, but he'd much rather avoid a scene like this," says our source.

While the discomfort is understandable on Saif's part, it means letting go of a sure-shot hit jodi for Karan. "Kareena follows Saif's advice on most things and trusts his vision. It's unlikely that the original casting of Shuddhi will work out," adds our source.
