Yeah but she was only 31 I think. And her death is sad b/c after she passed away Prateik was treated like shit. His father didn't even care enough to raise him with the basic necessities every child deserves. Poor woman and poor Prateik.

most of us here are too young to be shocked by meena kumari or guru dutt's death. they were dead when we were born :-)

divya bharati death shocked me as a kid. recently, bengali director, ritupo*no ghosh's death has really shocked me! and guru dutt was a big loss for indian cinema!

Smita died in 1986 after giving birth to her son Prateek Babbar

Hmm i thought that was a forced opinion by her parents, anyways the damage was already done. I somehow couldn't buy whatever they said. An actress who was at a peak of her career also being deemed as the future superstar, makes very little sense to me but yaa because of personal reasons very much possible. Hmm depression maybe, or the conspiracy killing case is quite plausible. Look at this video the outburst of her parents after her death.
