Ayran Vaid has done at least 14 films-- Heartbeat, Danav, Mr 100 %, The Real Player, Chahat Ek Nasha, Aisa Kyon Hota Hai, Double Cross, Film Star, White Noise, Naam Gum Jayeega, Market, Men Not Allowed, Fun:Can Be Dangerous, and Manoranjan. None of them got him five percent of the fame that his khusur-pusur with Anupama Varma did in Bigg Boss.
Back from the Bigg Boss show, he lounges in his Juhu flat, taking calls from friends and well-wishers... and yes aunties too who want to know if he has proposed yet. But what gets Aryan really excited is a call from Aditya Chopra. Disbelief and happiness writ large on his face, he tells a friend over the phone, "Can you be lieve it? Aditya Chopra called to congratulate me about the show." For young film aspirants, this is The Call.
Does he think that Big Boss is the wisest decision he could have made?
"They called me up and I accepted the offer. I can't tell you how much we are paid as we are not allowed to tell. However I am pretty much happy with my money package. Exposure, money and experience tempted me to accept Bigg Boss offer. My experience in Bigg Boss is different--it was sometimes good and sometimes bad also. But it's quite an experience. But my advice to even common people like you is that don't enter into this kind of show"
But the show has got him eyeballs.
"So far I have received so many good offers and the reception is very warm. So far I have spoken to lot of people and let see how it goes. But at this point I would not like to mention any name. I have also received serial offers but at this moment my focus is primarily on cinema so I'm not looking at serials much. There lots of offers but I'm just holding back. Because I want go to London for a holiday. I have one pending film called 'Apney' with Dharamji, Sunny, and Bobby in which I'm playing bad guy. That's the only movie I'm working on"
Does he feel awkward about the films he has done so far? The ex-Grasim Mr. India title winner says:
"I did a movie called Heart Beat but unfortunately it was never released. Then I did a number of movies but not prominent ones and I obviously feel bad when they didn't do well, but it's all right. These are things that have been done and I have learnt my lessons from that. I haven't forgotten the movies. I can't say I'm ashamed of them but I have just moved on"
Would he like to go back into the Bigg Boss house?
"No but that day my friend told me that Anupama is crying on the show so I switched on the TV and I felt very bad. No, I won't go back in that house. I played the game fair and square. I have lost and now that I have been thrown out of the house, it's ok."
Finally, what the aunties want to know: Is he getting married to Anupama?
"The world will know soon in one way or the other. So I don't want to say anything right now. Just let time decide whatever is in store for Anu and me.
