Not every person fits into the stereotype of any community. I know a gujarati guy who actually looks very similar to Anuj in coloring, build and hell even the cleft chin and a very close family friend who is a gujarati woman who I would say is as fair as Sanaya and has even lighter eyes. Actually to me even Srman doesn't fit into my preconception of gujarati and i believe he is gujarati. I don't know where CC's mom comes from but I always think of her as punjabi even when she's saying Baa, because she played a punjabi in Saas Bina Sasural and left an impact.

At the end of the day the acting is so good that I don't really think of the gujarati theme.

For me, I enjoy the acting and look at it as a story which happens to be based in Ahmedabad. There will be few cultural markers because they are showing Gujarati families, but the focus is on acting and drama. TV shows anyway don't go into so much detailing and take lots of creative liberty.
Even if you see the wedding, Gujarati bride wears white and red saree, Chhanchhan wore a red and green ensemble.

I enjoy seeing Sanaya's acting and it suffices for me that she is in the show along with Supriyaji and now Anuj. Hope to get a good storyline to enjoy the show more.

Sanaya Irani is by birth a Parsi which has Gujarati heritage. So she knows partially of what it is like to be a gujarati. Being gujarati myself no it is not easy telling who is what nowadays because of what people look like. When I was in school a lot of people thought I was Bengali because of my skin colour. Being a part of the gujarati community their are many shades of skin tones. You could be as milky skinned as Sanaya or as dark skinned as Bipasha Basu. There is now no way of telling these days.
For me I can adjust to anyone playing gujarati's so long as they do justice to the role and manage to pull of playing that role. That is what should be important. Plus it is always great to have one or two people who really do belong to the community on set to show you how to pull of playing a Gujarati or Punjabi or Bengali so on and so forth.

When I say Sanaya and Anuj do not look gujrati, this has nothing to do with either of their skin tones. And I think Sanaya looks parsi (obv bc she is) but I also think she could go for North Indian heritage too. She still looks Indian in general to me. And Anuj definitely looks north indian in my opinion.

Yeah they don't look really Gujarati!!! 😆

I am Gujarati so I kinda can pick them out!!! But their skin color or language doesn't matter, as long as they give awesome expressions...Thats all that matters!!! 😳

But I thought Sanaya was kinda Gujarati but couldn't speak it?? 🤔 I thought she was Parsi!!! 😳 LOL Don't know!
