Today was the day history was made-Gadar/Lagaan

Two iconic movie made today on 15th june, personally my favorite has to be Lagaan

It is indeed a historic date! One film is the epitome of typical Bollywood masala entertainment and modern day box office miracle! Another is the quintessential classic that pleases both masses and classes and proves there's success for quality films too.
I remember BOTH these films were not given chances by filmi media and trade since both Sunny and Aamir had gone through bad patches both at BO and quality-wise prior to these films. There weren't big banners or big directors behind these films either. Plus they were both period films which were said to have no takers.

But they took the world by storm and proved to be the dark horses of the year. 👏

I love both these films for diferent reasons and both have a charm of their own. They are still as appealing and engrossing as they were back then!

I can't believe so much time has passed...

I've seen both in theatres during my summer vacation that year and enjoyed them a lot!

Lagaan was just amazing. Such a good film man. Cannot flaw it at all. I just love watching Radhe Kaise Na Jale, Gracy's graceful dancing <3

Lagaan was the better movie for me but Gadar was also worth watching.
