Colors officially pulls out TAM : Newsroom Exclusive 😊

Viacom 18(Colors) has confirmed the withdrawal of their subscription from the television viewership rating agency.

Viacom 18 is part of Network18 group that run 14 channels as TAM subscribers including Colors, Colors HD, MTV, Vh1, Comedy Central, Nick, Sonic, CNBC TV18, CNBC Awaaz, CNN-IBN, IBN7, Home-shop 18, and History TV18.

Few weeks before,Mastii, Dabang and Dhamaal pulled out their subscription from TAM data. With this, the total number of channels pulling out of TAM has reached 31.(Many channels withdrew their TAM subscription)

So TRP is finally bidding goodbye'..

I think its bad news , then cvs show crap , poor audiance
but I also think there will criteria make colors channel ,which track audiance like or not , otherwise how they will know

I think its best for da show cause dere are many viewers who watch da show online and TRP does nt consider dem.

But due to dat v may have tolerate this stupid and irrational track.

So now the sponsors will directly find out TRP from the agencies and negotiate the ad-slots accordingly, and the channel will need to explain the worth of unpopular tracks directly to the people who'll lose money because of that unpopularity. Good news.😊

TRP is killing the basic idea of story telling.

Many shows having good storyline simply get closed as it wasn't attracting enough trps.

I hope it will help to increase the standard of the shows.

Money is what matters, and advertisers are not fools to support things which the audiences don't like and stop watching. So this seems like a good move, finally we will have some real time TRP impact on the storyline with unwanted tracks being thrown out ... also CV's will finally get the independence to choose the story and not have to bend to Channel's arm-twisting tactics.
