BREAKFAST TABLE

All r taking breakfast. Roli's spoon falls. She was picking it when Sid holds her hand. Roli tried her best 2 b free but was unable to do. So she only takes a glass of juice.

Mata g: roli, why r u only drinking juice? Eat something.

Roli: aa….

Sid: yes roli, eat these parathas, they r very good.

Roli looks at him angrily.

Sid (smiles): don't look at me, eat these.

Roli tries 2 take by left hand.

Sujata: roli, y r u using left hand? Ur right hand is ok na?

Roli: a… actually…

Simar finds something unusual, goes and stands between rosid. She finds Sid holding roli's hand tightly, roli trying 2 b free but unable 2.

Simar: Siddhant g….

Sid suddenly leaves roli's hand.

Sid: a… yes simar.

Simar: u want something else?

Sid: a.. no, I m ok wid these.

Simar: ok… u both eat… roli… eat..

Simar leaves and roli gives a naughty smile 2 sid.

Then there was a knock on d door.

Sim: let me see.

Simar opens d door.

Sim: papa!

All goes and becomes happy 2 see jamnalal.

Rosim hugs him and presid touches his feet. He comes in

Mata g: yes jamnalal ji, …

Jamna: mata g, I have come for d patphera. On simar's time, condition was not good, so I thought I should do this ritual with both d daughters at a time.

Sid (slowly in his ear):what's this patphera?

Prem: u don't know? When d girl goes 2 her father's house for d 1^st time after marriage for 7 days.

Sid: 7 days?

Mata g: simar, roli, go get ur bags pack.

Rosim: yes mata g.

ROSID ROOM

Roli is packing her bag, sid sitting and looking at her.

Sid: roli! Can't u see me sitting here?

Roli: yes I can, what's a big deal??

Sid (coming 2 her): it's a big deal. U r going for 7 days?

Roli: hmm. It's a ritual.

Sid: but... I can't live leaving u for 1 week. U r not going anywhere.

Roli: siddhant g, we had all d rituals of marriage, then why not this??

Sid: ok, then go but be here till evening.

Roli: what??

Sid: yes.

Roli: u r telling an impossible thing yaar,

Sid: roli, for d last time, if u want 2 go, then go but come back till evening.

Roli: sidddhant g….

Sid: I don't want arguments,

He leaves.

She tenses…

OUTSIDE

All r sitting, rosim comes with their bags. They take everybody's blessings. They are ready to go. They reach 2 door. All greeting jamna when sid holds roli's small finger with his, he expresses as if telling her not 2 go… roli symbols him she is too unwillingly going. And asks him 2 let her go. Having a little tears in his eyes, sid leaves her finger. and

Sid: i will not let u take Roli Papa.

Everyone is surprised.
Jamnalal smiles.

Jamna: it is custom to take my daughter back home for some time and custom must be followed.

Sid: I don't care about custom, all I know is that Roli is not fully well here.

Jamna: u don't worry, I will care ur wife very well.

Sid upsets..

Everyone goes outside to see Roli and Simar off. Roli looks out at Sid sadly through the open window of the car as it's pulling away and Sid looks back at her.

Sid enters his bedroom and goes over to the photo of Roli hanging on the wall. He begins talking to the photo saying,

"What I said was for us only, but you did not listen to me...what's more, you did not even come and pacify me when I was upset, and now you've left!"

He goes and sits on the bed and sulks like a little kid. Suddenly he notices something under the bed cover and takes it out. It's a rose with a letter tied around it from Roli. Sid reads the letter: "I'm sorry I have upset you and for that I beg your forgiveness. Please do not be upset as it does not suit you at all. Please take good care of yourself while I'm away and as soon as the auspicious time comes, please come and bring me back home."

Yours Roli.

He smiles and calls roli. She was already in her home.

Roli: you forgave me right?

Sid: I am the one who should apologize to you since I wasn't speaking with you properly. I didn't know that in an instant you'd go so far away.

Roli: but I am right there with you.

Sid:, being upset with you is like being upset with myself. You know what yaar, whenever I close my eyes, I see only you. Do you feel the same way?

Roli: even when my eyes are open all I see is you.

Sid:so that means you are having as difficult a time staying without me as I am without you.

Roli: yes.

Sid: I have a solution. I'm going to come get you right now.

Roli: but what about Mataji...

Sid:you leave Mata g to me. She is your grandma in law, but she's my friend. I'll sway her somehow.
