"I'm angry and sad is it? How do you know and what makes you think so?", she said, crossing her hands across her chest.

"Geet. I've known you for sometime now- to know how you behave in certain situations and I also know your reactions and responses. Well, anyways, you are Angry that I'm not eating and sad that I'm angry", he said, smiling.

Geet raised her eye-brow and said, "Jab pata hain- that I'm angry and sad- then why don't you eat?"

He was about to answer back when the door fell open and Shreyasi walked in- "Here you go Madam!", she said, handing over the magazines to Geet.

"Shreyasi- itne saare magazines hain tumhaare paas. Tum office mein kaam karte ho ya magazine padthe ho?", asked Maan, looking at the collection of magazines.

"Don't ask obvious questions MK", said Sasha, walking in, with some folder.

"What do you mean?", asked Maan.

"Right Sir- Obvious questions have obvious answers. Boring isn't it? That's what she meant?", said Shreyasi- not giving a chance for Sasha to speak at all.

"Maam anything else, you can always call- my extension is 474", said Shreyasi to Geet and walked towards Sasha.

"Dearest Sasha Maam- there's difference between working hard and working smart. I follow the second", she said and walked out, smiling. Arguments with Sasha always gave her peace and some sort of happiness.

"Yeh Geet abhi tak gayi nahin?", thought Sasha, looking at Geet.

"Sasha", said Maan, looking at the folder she had just given him. "Did you check the details?", he asked.

"Yes MK", she said, sitting down in front of him. Geet made a face at her and walked back to the couch.

Aapne lunch nahin kiya MK?", she asked, wondering why still Geet is here.

"NAhin", he said, still looking into the folder.

"Ok", she said and smiled to herself, "Iss Geet ko kya pata- MK ke gusse ke bare main. Office mein aa ke zabardasti karti hain- to kya MK chup chap khana khayenge? Non-Sense. Sahi hua", she spoke to herself.

"Theek hain-I'll sign and send it later. You carry on with your other work", he told her. She got up and was about to walk out when he spoke again, "Adi ko bulana".

"Yeah", she said and walked out. Geet looked at Maan, "Yeh aaj khana khayenge ya nahin? Gosh, why's he so stubborn Babaji?"

"Maan", she called out to him.

"You want more magazines is it?", he asked, pushing his chair back and relaxing a bit.

"No", she said.

"Then what?"

"Lunch", she reminded him.

"I thought you already had it", he said.

"I'm talking about you", she said.

"I don't want", he said.

"You know I'm angry and sad yet you don't want to eat? What are you made of? Main tab se wait kar rahin hoon", she said, losing it now. He looked at her calmly and asked, "What am I made of, Geet, is that what you want to know?"

"Well", he said, standing up and walking to her, "tumhein do ghante wait karne se pareshaani ho rahin hain Geet. You are already getting impatient. But I've been waiting for so long for you and I'" and stopped abruptly realizing what he was speaking. Geet looked at him, surprised.

"Kya chahiye tumhein? You want me to eat know- fine! I'll eat", he said, walking past her to the couch. He sat on the couch, put the box in front of him, and finished the parathe and curd. He then closed the boxes and placed them back in the bag. He came and held the bag for her. She stared at him. He placed the bag in her hand and walked away to his table.

Geet did not say anything. She only looked at him, still surprised. What he did he want to say and not say, she wondered. She looked at the bag in the hand and suddenly looked up and asked, "Aapne poora kha liya na, ya phir kuch chod diya?"

Maan took a deep breath and said, "After all I've spoken and done, this is what you have to ask me?"

"Dekhiye main yahan aapko lunch karaane ayi hoon. Aur woh kaam ho gaya", she said, smiling that he had finally eaten.

"Alright, out then!", he said, pointing to the door.

Geet looked at him seriously. "Mr. Khurana" and he said, "Your work is done. So, what are you waiting for? Leave!", he said.

"Maan"

"Geet, just leave!", he said, angrily. Geet did not like the fact that he raised his tone to that extent. She felt her eyes get watery and immediately took her phone and walked out of the chamber. She walked to the reception and the receptionist asked her, if she should call for Geet's car.

"No! I'll go the parking myself", she said and walked away. She sat in the car and looked at the Khurana Constructions building. "Whenever I come here, I only end up going back sad- whether it is now or when I worked here".'

Maan closed his eyes to control his anger. "Whenever she comes here- we only end up hurting each other"

"Sir", came Adi's voice.

"Yeah come in", he said and discussed something with him. He suddenly remembered something and called the reception, "Did my wife drive or was there a driver?", he asked.

"Sir, she came by herself", came the receptionist's voice.

"Ok", he said and hung-up.

"Geet drive safe!", he texted her.

She only saw the text after parking the car. "I've reached", she texted him back. He felt a bit relieved.

"I'm sorry", he texted her.

"It's okay. I'm used to it now", she texted him back. "We'll talk later, you carry on with your work", she mentioned in another text she sent.

She hadn't noticed anything around as she texted Maan and hence walked past everyone in the living room.

"Geet", came Daadima voice, "Beta did Maan have lunch?", she asked.

Geet looked up from her phone- in the direction of the voice and said, "Yes Daadiji".

"Okay! So, that's what you went for- in the hot sun? When Nakul told me you went out I was wondering why you went out in such scorching heat".

"Pyaar deewana hota hain, mastana hota hain", came Dev's voice from behind, as he walked down the stairs, laughing.

"Lo shuru, phir se! Tumhaare bro na- Geet aur Maan Veerji ko chain se rehne nahin dete", said Naintara, to Kiara- who was sitting beside her.

Geet had never met Kiara before and hence did not recognize her.

"Geet, you have not met Kiara before right? This is Maan and Dev's sister- Kiara, the youngest in the family", said Daadiji, smiling.

"Hi", said Geet, leaving the bag aside and walking to Kiara.

"Hi Bhabhiji", said Kiara.

"I heard you left just a month before our wedding and Maan did not want to call you back or disturb you", she said.

"Yeah! I felt bad too- that I couldn't attend Veerji's wedding. I had to take my final exams. But it's okay. I guess something's we're not destined to attend or get", she said.

"Kiara tum philosophy kab seekhi?", asked Dev.

"Bro, main kuch bhi seekhu, aap taunt karna nahin chodenge", she said, walking to him and hugging him.

"Arey woh kaise chodenge? PhD jo ki hain usme", said Naintara. "aao Geet, baito. Chai piyoge?", she asked Geet.

"Nahin. I'm fine. Thanks!", said Geet, sitting beside Daadiji.

"Aaj main bahut khush hoon. Meri pyaari si beti wapas aa gayi", said Daadima. "Ab bas Maan wapas aa jaye, tho hum aaj saath mein dinner karenge".

"Yep, I'm waiting for Maan Veerji to come back", said Kiara.

"Geet, beta zara Maan ko bata dijiye- ki woh aaj office se jaldi aaye- unke liye surprise hain", said Daadima.

"surprise, aap sab ke liye hain Daadiji- unke liye nahin", said Kiara.

"Why?", asked Dev.

"Yaar veerji, Maan veerji ko hamesha ki tarah- pata hain ki main aaj aa rahin hoon", said Kiara.

"Phir bhi office gaye?", asked Dev, winking.

"Ab Veerji aapke tarah lazy nahin hain, Dev", came Naintara's voice.

"Naintara- tum meri patni ho ya dushman?", she asked. Kiara laughed."AAp dono abhi bhi jagadte rehte ho?"

"Nahin nahin! Ab hum dono ka competition aa gaya iss ghar mein. Maan Veerji aur Geet to hum se do khadam aage hain is maamle mein", said Dev and everyone else laughed.

"Oh I see", said Kiara, "Waise Dev bro aap office nahin gaye aaj?"

"Nahin tum aa ne waali thin a- tuo office ko chutti kar di maine", he said.

"Accha?", asked Geet.

Maan returned from office at 7:30pm, which was very early for him-compared to the last few days- when he would only return at 10 or 11 pm.

He could hear voices and laughter and suddenly remembered- "Oh Kiara, is back today". Before he could wonder how he forgot that- she ran into his arms- "Veerji, how're you".

He hugged her back, smiling, "Wonderful! How're you?", he asked, kissing her forehead. Geet was in the dining room, till then getting everything ready for dinner- she came out and saw Kiara talking to Maan.

"I missed you so much Veerji", she said, still hugging him.

"I missed you too", he said, patting her hair gently on the back of her head. "You dint even attend my wedding- and you were so angry", he said, softly so that only she could hear.

Kiara pulled out of his hug a little to see him and said, "Bro- you know why! I still don't approve certain decisions you've made".

"Kiara- sometimes, you just have to trust your Bro", he said, patting her cheek.

"Not sometimes Bro- the problem is- I trust you always. It's just that, you never cared for yourself. You always thought of the people you've loved and cared", she said.

"Kiara, main tum sab se bhi pyaar karta hoon", he said.

"Bhai- that's why I generalized it. You always think about the people whom you love and care- whether they think of you or not".

"Arey kya aap dono darwaaze pe hi khade ho gaye", came Daadi's voice.

"We'll talk later on this and I need answers Bro. Maan Singh Khurana doesn't answer to other's questions but he has to answer to Kiara's Singh Khurana's questions".

"When answers can only hurt- why do you want to hear them?", he asked.

"Maan, Kiara- aap dono andar ayenge? Kya baatein ho rahin hain wahan?", asked Daadima.

"We'll talk later", he said and hugged her again.

"I love you- my sweety pie", he said.

Geet noticed how Maan and Dev were very happy with Kiara around. The siblings bonding made her smile. While clearing something in the kitchen- she asked Naintara.

"There 3 gel together so well. I din't know Maan was so close to his sister"

"Geet, Veerji is very close to a very few people. Out of which is Daadima and Kiara. And of course, now you're equally important too. He'll never express but he'll give his life for the people he loves", she said, while putting the crockery back away in the shelves.

"If he doesn't express- how will anyone know?", asked Geet.

Naintara smiled, "Geet, think of it- you'll find the answers yourself".

Geet smiled. They switched off the lights in the kitchen and the living room. They walked into the living room- where Kiara and Dev were having ice-cream and talking while Maan was quietly watching and listening to the both of them, happily.

"Inki baatein abhi khatam nahin honge", said Naintara. "Okay people! I'm off to bed. Im tired", she said, to the rest of the family.

"Bhabhi- so soon?", asked Kiara.

"Yes Kiara. Actually we've travelled the whole morning and then work at home. So, I'll catch up later with you. Anyways, when you are with your brothers- will you care to talk to us?", she asked, and winked.

"Yeah Right bhabhi", said Kiara, putting her tongue out.

"Geet, tum bhi rest kyun nahi karti", asked Naintara, as she stood up to walk upstairs.

"Haan, I will. Daadiji ko medicines deni hain. I'll finish that and go to bed", said Geet, standing up too.

"Chalo Good night", the women said together- looked at each other and laughed. Dev and Kiara- yelled back too, "good night".

Maan came back to the bedroom fifteen minutes past midnight. He thought Geet would be asleep but was surprised to see she was reading something.

He simply walked in- closed the door behind him and went to his side of the bed. She looked at him. He lay down and asked her, "Din't sleep still. How come?"

"I tried sleeping- but wasn't sleepy- though I'm tired", she said.

"Just lie down for sometime- you'll automatically fall asleep", he said, switching off the lights on his side- ensuring that she has enough light to read.

"Hmmm", she said and closed the book. She switched off the lights on her side and just left the night light on- bright enough for them to see other and the other things in the room- so that they don't stumble over something at night- if they were to get up and walk around without a light.

"Maan", she said after ten minutes.

"Yes Geet", he said, almost instantly.

"You're awake", she said.

"Even you are", he said.

"Maan, I wanted to know why you were so angry this afternoon? You were fine initially dunno what happened to you later on. As soon as you see me- you get angry, why?", she asked.

Maan turned to look at her. "Geet, its almost 12:30 am now. And you're questioning me at this time. Shouldn't you be sleeping and shouldn't I be sleeping?"

"Well, yes, you should be sleeping- cos I'm sure you wouldn't have slept while we were not here", she said, "If you're sleepy, you can sleep. We can talk later", she said.

"What's your question?", he asked.

"Why were you so angry?", she asked.

"Shouldn't I be?", he asked.

"Why is every answer to my question a question again?", she asked, "But I'll answer it", she said. "You can be angry. Well, that's how you are- short tempered. But I sometimes feel you get angry more often on me- rather than anyone else", she said.
