Part 2

At night in the chawl

Madhu was remembering whatever Trishna told hertoday: She said to herself, "Didu ne aisa kyon kaha? Main kyon karungi aisa kuch?" She started to cry.

Padmini saw Madhu crying and came to console her.

P – Mat ro beta. Tujhe to pata hai na ki Trishna hai hi itni badtameez. Pata nahi kyon wo hamesha tere sath itni buri tarah pesh aati hai.

M – koi baat nahi maa, main samajh sak….

Suddenly a person of the chawl came running and shouting: "Are Madhu, bhabhiji, jaldi aao Malik ka accident ho gaya hai!!!!!!!"

Madu and Padmini stood up in shock. Both came running down and asked: "Malik kaha hai?? Aur accident kaise hua?????"

Man: Pata nahi bhabhiji kaise hua par aap log jaldi chalo Malik city hospital mein hai.

M - aapko kaise pata chala Kaka?

K – Madhu beta jisne Malik ko hospital mein admit kiya hai usne abhi phn kiya tha. Mujhe ussi se pata chala.

P – Hey bhagwan , yeh kya ho gaya….

Madhu interrupts – Ma yeh waqt in sab chizo ka nahi ha, jaldi chalo Malik k paas.

The three went to the hospital.

In the Hospital

Madhu, Kaka and Padmini came running inside and asked the receptionist about Malik. After that they reached ICU and saw a man sitting nearby.

Madhu rushed to the man and asked, " Kya aapne hi Malik ko admit karwaya hai?"

Man, " Ha aap unke gharwale hai?"

M – Ji, Yeh sab kaise hua??

Man – Pata nahi beta, yeh raste se ja rahe the aur ek truck ne aakar achanak dhakka mar diya. Wo kuch pareshani mein the shayad isiliye truck ko nahi dekha. Yeh lo unka saman. Aur ab jab aap log aa hi gaye to main chalta hun.

He gave Madhu Malik's phn, wallet.

M – Thank you very much.

After 15 mins, the doctor came out and said, "Shamsher Malik ke ghar se koun aaya hai?"

P – Hum doctor saab, Kya baat hai?? Sab thik to hai na? Malik…Malik thik to hai na?

Doc – Dkhiye main aap logo ke jasbad samajh sakta hun. Humne bohot koshish ki par hum…hum unhe bacha nahi paaaye. I am sorry.

M – Kya???? Yeh aap kya keh rahe hai? Aisa kaise ho sakta hai???

Doc – Dekhiye, unko bohto gehri chot aayi thi. Pura sharir jakhmi tha. Unko jab yaha laya gaya tha tab hi unke bachne ke chances 1% the. I am sorry. Excuse me.

The doctor left.

Padmini fainted after hearing the news. Madhu and Kaka were shocked. They took Padmini back home. The hospital authorities told Madhu to take the dead body next day. Madhu was completely devastated. She went back home.

At home Trishna was waiting for them. When they arrived Trishna asked Madhu, "Kaha the tum log? Tumhe pata hai main kab se intejaar kar rahi hun tum logo ka? Aur ma ko…ma ko kya hua? Madhu tu chup kyun hai? Baata na, Kya hua?? Aree koi mujhe baatayega ki kya hua??"

K – Trishna beta, tumhare Malik…tumhar malik…

T – Malik?? Kya hua Malik ko?? Batao kaka??

Then Madhu spoke in a heavy cold voice, "Didu, Malik ab iss duniya mein nahi rahe.

T – Kya????? Yeh tu kya keh rahi hai? Pagal ho gayi hai kya?

M – Main sahi keh rahi hun didu. Yehi sach hai aur issko tu maan le.

The whole night both the sisters comforted each other and their mother. The next day the hospital authorities sent the body of Malik. PAdmini and Trishna cried a lot but Madhu, she was as still and hard as a stone statue.

It was the time of performing Malik's last rites. The pandit asked, "Inka koi beta hai kya?"

K - Nahi Panditji, unki sirf do betiyaan hai.

Pandit - Fir unka antim-sanskaar kaun karega?

M - Main Karungi.

Everyone shocked.

Pandit - Lekin beti tum to ek ladki ho.

M - To kya hua? Main ladki hu to kya main Malik ki koi nahi? Kya main unki bacchi nahi? Kya yeh hak sirf ek beta hi jata sakta hai?

Pandit - Par beta

M - Koi par-war nahii. Main aur didu hi Malik ka antim sanskaar karenge.

The pandit gives them the torch to ignite the 'chitah'. Both the sisters ignited it.

Madhu in her mind- Malik, main aapse wada karti hun ki main hamare parivaar kuch nahi hone dungi. Aap ki aatma ko bas shanty mile. Mere har kadam pe mujhe apke saath ki jarurat hai. Umeed karti hun ki mujhe apka sahara milega. Hain na...PAPA???

Thinking this she moved backwards.

After all rites and ritualsall of them came back home. It was indeed a very sad and tiring day and Madhu slept without eating anything.

Next morning, Madhu woke up with a huge noise coming from outside. She came outside and saw their chawl's owner shouting at Padmini.

P - Dekhiye bhaisaab aap hume bas ek aur mahine ka muhurat dijiye main aapko aapke saare paise de dungi.

Owner - Nahi bhabiji ab aur nahi. Pichle 3 mahino se aapne bhara nahi dia ab ek aur mahina? Majak chal raha hai kya?

P - Bhaisaab aap to dekh hi sakte hai. Ghar mein itna bara hadsa ho gaya hai aura b to hum mein se koi kamata bhi nahi hai'.

O - Wahi to main keh raha hoon. Aap ke ghar koi kamata bhi nahi hai aur nahi aage koi kamanewala hai. Aapki dono bacchiya to abhi padhai hi kar rahi hai. Aap ek kaam karo, mujhe mera paisa de do aur yaha se chalte bano.

P - Yeh aap kya keh rahe ho bhaisaab? Hum itne saalo se yaha reh rahe hai aur ab aap keh rahe ho ki'

O - Itne saalo se yaha reh rahe ho to kya yeh chawl aapka ho gaya? Kal subah main yaha aake dekhna chahta hoon ki aap yaha se chale gaye, who bhi mere paise dekar.

Saying this he left.

Padmini was about to fall when Madhu caught her. She started to cry and said, "Madhu ab hum kya karenge? Hamare liye to abs are raaste band ho gaye hai."

Madhu was about to tell something when Trishna came and interrupted, "Ma, maine abhi sab dekha hai aur maine tay bhi kar liya hai ki hume kya karna hai."

M - Par didu hum karenge kya?

T - Madhu, Ma, Hum Mumbai jayenge. Waha asha kaki k yaha hum kuch din rahenge aur fir main aur Madhu koi nakoi kaam dhundh lenge. Tu chalegi na Ma?

P - Par aise kaise hum ja sakte hai?

T - Ghar mein jitna bhi paisa hai mujhe de do main ticket book karwa ke aati hun aur hamara bhara bhi de aaungi, pls mana mat karna ma, Hume yaha se dur jana padega aur apni zindagi ein aage barna padega.

That evening in a train going to Mumbai.

M - Didu, hum Mumbai kab tak pahuchenge?

T - Time to lagega na Madhu? Aisa to nahi ki hum train mein chade aur pahunch gaye. Kal subah pohchenge.

P - Tu har waqt madhu se iss tarah se kyun baat karti hai Trishu? Madhu ne to bas itna hi pucha ki...

T - Ma, raat bohot ho chuki hai, mujhe lagta hai hume ab so jana chahiye...Gd n8.

The train went through the night towards their destination where their future was waiting...about which they were completely unaware.

The next part will be posted after a week or two...sorry for that...

Mumbai, RK Mansion. 07:00 AM

In the Gym,

A man with his bare upper body and black trousers was doing pushups. His perfect 8 pack abs made him look like a Greek god. Doing pushups was one of the reasons behind his perfect body. He was none other than the business magnet Rishab Kundra or RK, which he preferred. Although he is a business magnet, he loved to maintain his perfect body and looks. Girls were his die heart admirers because of two things- 1) his looks and body 2) his bank balance.

Suddenly his phone rang. He stopped his pushups and got up irritated to receive the call. But seeing the caller's name his eyes flushed with anger. He threw his phone and took his towel to wipe the sweat out of his body.

There was a knock at the door. He said, "Come in." A person with short height came in and said, "Chief, 9 baje apki meeting Mr. Bhatia se hai. Ap unse milne ke liye taiyaar to hai na?"

RK- Bittuji jab main use milnewala hi hun to subah subah meri workout ke bich who mujhe phone karke kyun disturb kar raha hai?

Better to say here, that Mr. Bhatia was another businessman who was not successful in his business. The only reason behind his contact with RK is that he and RK's father Mohan Kundra were childhood friends. He wants to join his business to have some success.

Bittuji(personal assistant of RK) : Chief unhone aapko phone kiya tha?

RK: Ha, Kyun?

B: Who mujhe kaise pata hoga Chief? Main unse baat kar lunga….

RK: Aur unhe yeh bata dijiyega ki mujhe bematlab phone na kare.

Saying this he got out of the gym.

Mumbai Station. 09:00AM

Padmini, Madhu and Trishna reached Mumbai station. They were surprised to see the huge surging crowd.

P- Trishu, Madhu, beta tum dono mere saath hi raho. Itni bhir mein pata nahi kaha kho jaoge.

T- Maa, chinta mat kar main to tere hi saath hun. Bas apni laadli Madhu se keh de ki wo kahi hat na 6or de tera.

P- Haa, Madhu, tub hi mera haat pakar ke hi rakh ekbar hum iss jagh ku pechan le phir koi chinta nahi…..Madhu??

She turned and saw that Madhu was not there. She caught Trishna's hand tightly and said, "Trishu, Madhu kaha hai? Woh to….woh to yehi thi na?"

T- Haan Maa, kaha gayi? Maine kaha that hi dhyan rakhna uska….

Both started to call Madhu's name, "Madhu, Madhu….kaha gayi Madhu?"

Here, Madhu was coming with Padmini and trishna when suddenly she was pushed back by a huge crowd. She could not hold Padmini's hand anymore and moved back far away from Trishna and Padmini. When she settled herself, she started to search for Padmini and Trishna. She was damn scared and moved here and there in the station but couldnot find Padmini and Trishna.

Once again a huge crowd pushed her and she was about to fall when two strong arms caught her and saved her from falling. Madhu could not see the face of the person but she could understand that it was a man. She yelled in a low tone, "Thank you." The man helped her to stand up and said, "Zara dekh ke chaliye." He was about to go away when Madhu said, "Ek minute meri baat suniye."

Man- Kya?

M- Main yaha nayi aayi hun. Mujhe yaha ka kuch nahi pata. Main apne maa aur didu ke saath thi magar mera haat chuth gaya iss bhir mein.

Man- Aap mujhe yeh sab kyun bata rahi hai?

M- Kya aap mujhe station se bahar jane ka raasta bata sakte hai?

The man stopped for a moment and then spoke, " Aap ko pata aap bohot bari bewakoof hai?"

M- Kya???

Man- Haan. Aap ek anjane aadmi ko ek anjane shahar mein aake yeh sab bata rahi hai. Agar main aapko kahi aur le jakar aapka fayda uthau to?

M- Yaha itne sare log hai. Koi na koi to meri madad ke jaroor aayega..

Man- Iss duniya mein koi kisike liye nahi hota hai. Har koi apna fayda dekhta hai. Khair main aaisa kuch nahi karunga par aap yaha zara savdhani se rehna. Main aapko station ke bvahar to le ja sakta hoon par sirf wahi tak. Aur kuch nahi. Aaiyee.

Madhu was hesitating to come with him.

Man- Agar mujhe kuch karna hi hota aapke saath to main apko savdhan rehne ke liye itna lecture nahi deta. Chaliye.

Now Madhu was convinced and she went with the man.
