anyways jokes apart. My question is this that what was the signatures for? I mean on what papers did asad on zoya signed that Maulviji gave them?

and why maulviji himself came to take the signatures? what are those papers?

please guys tell me, i am feeling desperate to know this...

Hey Tinu. I'm also not sure what it is.

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I can assure you that in real Islamic culture, papers only need to be signed on the day of the Nikaah. Both the bride and the groom sign the Aqd-Nikaah, which is essentially a written marriage contract. It needs to be witnessed by at least two sane adults, the Qadi, and a waqil representing the bride. The Aqd-Nikaah also specifies the terms and conditions of Mahr, which is a marriage-gift that the groom must pay to the bride either immediately after the marriage or he may choose to defer it. Mahr isn't of importance unless the couple gets divorced.
In short, whatever papers the Maulvi got signed do not represent any true Islamic custom (unless its different in India than Pakistan).
