Religion has been cropping up quite often the last couple of days.

It's interesting how many people are getting worked up about a skirt and yet seem to be blind to all the other things that are Un-Islamic in the show.

I'm a Muslim and I know what I'm talking about, so please don't ask me the 'are you even Muslim?' question. I also wear the burka and a headscarf whenever I go out, and would deem myself as someone who takes Islam very seriously, but I am no angel and make many mistakes. Just like everyone else.

My questions to those that object to the skirt:
  • Why do you not complain about Tanveer's and Asad's friendship, even physical friendship, i.e. the holding hands, clinging to one another, hugging etc.?
  • Why do you not make a fuss over the fact Zoya freely enters Asad's room or vice versa? Sometimes Asad is even topless.
  • Why do you not complain when they dance quite intimately?
  • Why did no-one complain when they hugged?
  • Why did no-one complain when they almost kissed? People were happy about it.
  • They fell asleep next to each other, no-one complained then, why not?
  • What about the times Asad insults/accuses/disrespects Zoya?
None of this is allowed in Islam, but I didn't see any complaints, with a few exceptions relating to Tanveer, and Asad's insults. Are you seriously trying to tell me that God would be more forgiving of a woman who is so physically close to a man, than a woman that wears the wrong clothing? Seriously?
Most people get so happy when there is intimate scenes between Zoya and Asad. That's forbidden in Islam between an unmarried couple, but I guess anything goes in the name of romance, right?

And what about Asad insulting and disrespecting Zoya? I can find you many Islamic texts where it states that Muslims must respect each other. Even when you are angry, even when you hate someone, even if they are your enemy you must respect them. Plus it's also stated you must respect their beliefs and their religion. You are not allowed to disrespect that even if you don't hold the same beliefs, as only God can judge them. And not just Asad, even members in the forum get too personal with others on the forum.🥱

And to those saying that if you wear skirts like Zoya it means you're not a Muslim, where on Earth did you find this info? When did God give us the right to decide who is and isn't a Muslim? Yes you can say they are doing wrong, but to say they are not Muslim? I don't remember God giving me the right to say someone is not a Muslim, who am I or you to judge that?
Doesn't Islam say we should try to help each other become better humans and better Muslims and we should have patience? So why doesn't Asad help Zoya to understand the religion better instead of attacking her? Why don't people complain about these things?

You tell me who is better, Tanveer the woman who does all sorts of evil and is even willing to kill people for her own gain and yet dresses like a Muslim should, or Zoya the woman who sometimes doesn't dress the way a Muslim should and yet does good for the sake of doing good, not for her own gains?

I by no means am saying that in Islam wearing short clothing like Zoya did is allowed. All I'm saying is that the show shows many things that are not allowed in Islam, things I would deem as more serious and probably most people would, yet no-one seemed to complain.
People should at least try to be balanced in their comments.

No offence intended.

Thank you so much for writing this post! The most needed one! I was shocked to see the "skirt" post. I mean, they are watching a romance show, and they don't ave any problems, but if Zoya wears a skirt, everyone suddenly becomes very religious! 🤢 I am also a Muslim, and I was ashamed to see that post as it was indeed bringing Islam into the wrong light saying Zoya is not a Muslim if she wears a skirt! What type of rubbish is that? 😕🤢 Not everyone is perfect, and that is how it is. If someone wants to do something for their religion, they should talk about the bigger issues and more important issues! Forcing their thinking onto someone else isn't going to get him/her anywhere! Dressing is indeed a big issue, but not the biggest one! 😳

In conclusion, salute to your post!!! 👏

Word. Not to mention that a man and woman aren't even allowed to be alone in a room together [in Islam]. However, Asad and Zoya have been alone in the house countless times.

Bottom line, it's about understanding the distinction between practicing Muslims and non-practicing Muslims.
