Working with Amitabh Bachchan is a high in itself but working with both Big B and Aby's baby? Well, that's something Vinay Jain can answer, since he worked with both within a span of three months. "I shot with Mr Bachchan in London for Cheeni Kam and then recently, I came back from Prague where I shot with Abhishek for Drona," informs Vinay. The actor says that both father and son have a way of making people feel comfortable around them. "Working with Big B is a dream come true for any actor. He knows who his co-stars are and on the first day itself, he greets you by your name which speaks volumes about him. In his own way, Abhishek too makes you feel comfortable around him. He's great fun to be with and wears his stardom on his sleeve," he adds. Vinay was in Prague for over a week for the shoot. He recalls fondly, "I used to think Paris is romantic before I saw Prague! We all had great fun shooting there. The crew was mostly international and some of them had worked for Casino Royale too," he informs. The actor gelled well with the Polish, Hungarian and British crew. "We would teach each other native songs during the breaks and had great laughs at the wrong accents," he adds with a smile. But working in films is not a new experience to this actor who started off as assistant director in films like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman and Patthar Ke Phool. "It's like coming full circle now," he says.
But the actor's been missing from the small screen ever since Sony's Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin came to an end, where he played the role of the scheming Aryan. "I have been very selective in my work," he admits, "that's because I don't know how much you can grow as an actor on television. I won't deny that television is very relevant to me but the way it operates, you don't get to grow as a performer." And that's one of the reasons Vinay prefers to stay connected to films and theatre. "In films, you get to work with great directors and theatre teaches you discipline," he explains. But does that mean he will never act on the small screen again? "I don't know what will make me do TV anymore," he says thoughtfully and then adds, "Maybe if something really exciting comes my way, I will consider it."
