Thats correct..though I thought its more of Bihari slang...anyways not worth discussing this any further, now everyone knows what it basically means..
You are all quite mistaken here. This is a very popular bihari/bhojpuri time filling statement , especially when you meet and talk to friends. Someone invariably talks about the problems in Bihar (I was there a pretty long time),and then you cut the conversation and say Zindagi Jhand hai Phir Bhi Ghamand hai.
Jhand means useless,worthless etc , so fully translated it is specifically meant for those empty headed souls who still think they have achieved something great in life...
Literal translation - "Life is screwed,but I am still shrewd !!"
Aww okk.. What i was thinkin is.. we know how life is (zindagi jaante hai..).. phir bhi gamand hai (still attitude exists..)
