Anupamaa: Rahi hesitates before choosing between Anupama and the Kotharis

In tonight's episode of Anupamaa, Vasundhara targets Anupama and shocks everyone by demanding that she and the Shah family undergo medical evaluations. She coldly remarks that their behaviour is not something "mentally sound" people would display. Anupama immediately questions Vasundhara's double standards, reminding her how she chose to forgive Gautam and give him another opportunity despite being fully aware of the way he mistreated Prarthana. Vasundhara, however, turns the tables and labels Anupama's conduct as unstable.

Anupama Takes a Strong Stand Against Mocking Mental Health

Refusing to stay silent, Anupama firmly tells Vasundhara to stop trivialising mental health issues. She states that depression and emotional struggles are serious matters and should never be mocked or used as insults. Vasundhara brushes off Anupama's words, calling them just another lecture. Anupama responds with calm intensity, explaining that people may appear fine on the surface but often hide deep pain within.

She points out how Parag and Khyati lost their ability to smile after Aryan's passing and urges everyone present to stop casually throwing around terms related to mental illness. Overcome with emotion, Anupama apologises to Ansh and Prarthana for the chaos that has overshadowed their baby shower.

A Baby Shower Turns Bitter Amid Rising Tensions

Prem tries to downplay the situation, stating that the issue was blown out of proportion. He suggests discussing everything later, once the ceremony concludes. Khyati then announces that it is time for the family to present gifts and blessings to Ansh and Prarthana. Gautam steps forward, insisting that he should be the first to give a gift. With Parag's approval, Mahi also supports Gautam, claiming that he deserves the first right as Prarthana's family.

Gautam hands over a set of documents to Ansh and Prarthana, leaving both of them stunned. A confused Leela asks what the papers are about. Vasundhara explains that Prarthana is expected to sign them, agreeing that after childbirth she may live wherever she wants, but the baby will remain with Gautam, who will take full responsibility for raising the child.

Mahi’s Claim Over the Baby Shocks Everyone

Adding fuel to the fire, Mahi boldly announces that she will assume the role of the baby's mother. Anupama lashes out at the Kotharis, accusing them of orchestrating unnecessary drama and behaving irrationally. Vasundhara argues that future disputes are inevitable between Ansh and Gautam over the child and claims that Ansh lacks the ability to raise the baby. Parag supports Vasundhara, asking Prarthana to look at the situation practically and insisting that the child belongs in the Kothari household.

Unable to bear it any longer, an emotionally shattered Prarthana declares that Ansh is the only father her child will ever have. She decides to leave immediately for the Shah house. As Ansh tries to take her away, Gautam forcefully grabs Prarthana's hand and stops her. Ansh demands that Gautam let go. Anupama steps in and sternly asks Gautam to back off. When Vasundhara claims it is strictly a family issue, Anupama reminds her that both families are involved and reiterates that Prarthana has already chosen Ansh as her child's father.

Anupama Challenges the Kotharis and Takes Charge

With folded hands, Ansh pleads with the Kotharis not to snatch his unborn child away from him. Gautam stubbornly declares that he will not surrender his rights. Anupama counters him decisively, stating that he has no rights whatsoever since he is no longer Prarthana's husband. She announces that she is taking Prarthana back to the Shah house and openly challenges anyone who dares to stop her.

Khyati finally allows Prarthana to leave, adding that she can visit the baby whenever she wishes. Mahi urges Parag to intervene before it is too late. Anupama boldly challenges the family again, daring anyone to stand in her way. Parag steps forward and orders Anupama to release Prarthana's hand, but Anupama refuses to comply. Parag questions who will care for Prarthana if she leaves the Kothari home. Anupama confidently replies that Ansh is more than capable, unlike Gautam, who once abused his wife. She adds that the Shah household is a place where Hasmukh and Ansh know how to honour and respect women.

The confrontation between Parag and Anupama intensifies. Parag turns to Prarthana and asks whether she is leaving in a moment of anger. With tears in her eyes, Prarthana clarifies that she is not acting out of rage but because she feels completely broken.
