NEETA DESIGNS FOR MADHUBALA
Neeta Lulla, who has designed for top Bollywoodactresses, is now dressing up telly's Madhubala. Actress Drashti Dhami, who plays the title role in Madhubala... Ek Ishq, Ek Junoon, will wear an ensemble specially designed by Neeta for her grand wedding with RK (Vivian D'sena) in the show.
Says Neeta, "The outfit is inspired by the age-old classic Rajasthani embroidery. The gota work or pattikaam on the lehenga gives it a vintagetouch and the zardozi embroidery incorporated adds a classic traditional feel to it. It embodies the richness of the Rajput and Mughal heritage. A blend of colours and styling gives off the mystique of the yesteryears yet making it contemporary, perfectly suiting television's Madhubala."
Drashti is excited about her big day on screen. She says, "I have seen Neeta style the divas of Bollywood and this is a dream come true for me. I love the lehenga that I'm wearing; it's traditional while being contemporary, and brings out the best in me."
The wedding sequence airs tonight at 8.30 on Madhubala... Ek ishq, Ek Junoon, on Colors.
