Deepika was considered as beauty queen with no acting talent from the day she debuted.
But after Cocktail she started to get notice for her acting skills too.
She recently got good reviews for YJHD.
So did your opinion about Deepika changed?
Do you now consider her as an actress?

Deepika was never a bad actor like say, Katrina Kaif, who simply cannot act, no matter how hard she tries! The problem with Deepika was her choice of characters (same type of roles again and again) and her dialouge delivery (stitled and heavily accented!).

As an actor, she was always average, from OSO...definitely not good, but not cringe worthy either!

But lately...from Love Aaj Kal onwards, she seemed to grow with every film and with YJHD, she has established herself! Though, her distractors would still call her a wooden plank or whatever...fact is that the lady can act quite well! And it doesn't hurt, that she looks like a million bucks!⭐️

Even in YJHD, her dialouge delivery is not very good, but it is much better than before...what has worked in her favor is her rendering of Naina's character in a very subtle and smooth manner...when you look at the film, you only see the character and not Deepika the star!

PS: Anyone who can overshadow a mega-talented actor like Ranbir Kapoor CANNOT be a wooden plank! And she has managed to overshadow Ranbir in this film...atleast in certain scenes and portions!

Was never a wooden plank.She just got to work on her heavy accent and voice modulation.

Deepika was never a wooden plank to begin with, tho i wasn't her fan but now u can say, I AM, after watching YJHD! i really liked her n her chemistry with Ranbir in the movie!

I heard she was really good in Lafangey Parindey and KHJJS; too bad I watched neither. 😆

But I remember liking her in few bits of LAK. But yeah, Aarakshan, Cocktail and now YJHD, she's really impressed me. Idr Desi Boyz much, and Race 2 didn't give her much scope to display her potential so I'll ignore those two movies.

She really impressed me in YJHD. She did overshadow Ranbir in some scenes, and that says a lot!
