Okay so, after watching the SBS/SBB myself.. I did see how Zoya was wearing the handkerchief on herself. I was wondering too... HAIN I did not know the handkerchief can be used in so many ways! WOW! I should try that too and see how un-trashy I look like :D :D (just kidding Lol never will I wear that!)
Anyways, jokes aside. The mini mini mini mini mini handkerchief skirt was a bit to big on her no? LOL ok enough jokes now.. lol Yes it was really small. If they reallly wanted her to wear a skirt it could have been a decent size (and no I do not mean a skirt thats going to fly away with a bit of wind when you are outside)
Since we have not watched the episode yet we don't know why she even wore it.. so yeah.
okay getting back to the topic now... Yeah in Islam you are not allowed to show your body.. I mean that too in public.
Especially women in the Islam are like a diamond and are treated with great dignity and respect.. thats why Allah put Heaven under the Mothers feet which means to respect your mother etc. If you had a diamond you wouldn't want to be waving it around you would rather be keeping it nicely. (don't know if you understood what I meant there.. but hope you did)
Here is a little story I would like to share:

okay so a man asked him why in Islam women are asked to cover up. The mufti said.. I have 2 boxes of sweets in my hand. I open one, touch it and throw the box on the floor. I take the second box, leave it closed and throw it on the floor. Which box would you take? The man replied.. the closed one. The Mufti replied, yeah thats how we take our women. They are not to be exposed to everyone but to the one who opens the box. Being the husband (LOL)
So this show being "based on a muslim family".. uh I think they should not have showed the really short short mini-skirt. That skirt loooked waaay to trashy (no offense to anyone)
I know now a days.. Some Muslims wear whatever they want but this is a show and you are representing Muslims so do it in a way that helps the show and doesn't make Muslims look bad.
Some people were like how Muslim Actors/Actresses in Bollywood/TV/ etc wear whatever in movies etc. But in the movies they mostly play desi people.. not Muslims so they wear whatever.
Also.. some were like how you want the kiss scene but not the mini skirt? double standards?
Yeah that.. hmm... okay so since they are showing a Muslim family they should show the kissing/excessive romance after their wedding. & I don't know why she made Zoya wear backless Saris.. LOL so weird -_-"

ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF PEACE AND THAT IS WHY ISLAM IS THE FASTEST GROWING RELIGION IN THE WORLD. SO MANY PEOPLE CONVERT. I DON'T THINK PEOPLE WOULD BE CONVERTING IF ISLAM WAS ABOUT VIOLENCE.
EVERY RELIGION PROMOTES PEACE AND NO VIOLENCE. ITS PEOPLE W/O RELIGION WHO SAY OH MY RELIGION SAID TO KILL PEOPLE ETC. LIKE NO.
NO RELIGION HAS SAID TO KILL PEOPLE OR BE RUDE TO ANYONE. EVERY RELIGION PROMOTES PEACE AND RESPECT AND HAPPINESS.
