animation vagerah...fantasy...nd also the crime thrillers...one with detectives and all...jagga jaasoos ka future hi dooba hua dikh raha hai mujhe...

Dont think so..Of late, The dirty picture, EV, Kahaani, Fashion were successful films!!

I think Bwood also does not make good action films compared to Hwood besides besides sci fi, horror and animation!!

Fast paced thrillers (lacking entertainent quotient) bombs at BO but they are the best which bollywood has produced

Sci-fi type films haven't worked. Never watched any horror movies because I don't think they'd come out as natural as Hollywood ones IMO.

Bollywood tries just four genres- Romance, Comedy, Drama, Action. One sub genre of Romance and Comedy is Romantic Comedy. Action is also sprinkled with romance and machoism. No surprise elements there. All other genres are fail.

Sci fi, horror, animation, action movies. They all lack a punch.

Also hardly tries to make adaptations from the local book writer stories.

Horror and fantasy are a given. But yes, a lot of the comedies make me cringe instead of laugh. I can't believe how they make so much money.

Someone mentioned animation. I'd have to disagree with that. The problem is that people don't watch animation enough in India. Parents would rather take their kids to a "massy" commercial movie instead.
