Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like this consummation track is a misfit with how the story has been developed thus far?
I know they needed something drastic to happen to create the problem that would ultimately cause Saras and Kumud to drift apart again (oh come on, you know they're not getting married anytime soon). But I feel like a consummation track wasn't the right way to do it.
Saras is a guy that can barely express himself—how on earth does he just make love to the woman he loves on a whim like that? It takes him so much effort just to SAY anything. They've only hugged once and no effort had even made towards a kiss on the cheek, let alone anything more. The sudden leap to a consummation just doesn't seem fit.
Kumud is supposed to be confident and have the moral high ground. She is NOT supposed to be/do anything that Guman will accuse her of being/doing. Yet she gives in to this whim as well?
I guess I'm just annoyed. I really like the hesitant/shy courting/dating phase of couples in shows and I feel like having a consummation now, and one that is designed purely to create troubles, takes away from the romance.
It also undermines the strength of the characters and the story that has been developed so far. Saras is my favorite male character on Indian television so far and is shown to be a complex character with so many layers. Yet this entire lovey dovey and consummation track takes away from that a little. I'm not saying he should go back to being lonely; obviously Kumud changed him for the better. But I'm afraid the CVs are taking away from his (and her) carefully fleshed out characters.
I also really dislike the new Vidya Chatur. He has completely changed the vibe of the original VC.
Anyway, thoughts? Support? Rebuttals?
