"Arthi, she will never change" he smiled and shook his head!.

Arthi never failed to prepare his breakfast, even if she was sick. She felt it was the duty of a wife to take care of her husband's needs, before her own. She was an ideal wife- just perfect. And she never ceases to amaze him. She was his child hood friend. They grew up together, they were best friends, wherever you see arthi you would see uday and verse visa. They were inseparables. It was only during their college days they got separated. Uday did his degree from Mumbai and she, from delhi. But they regularly kept in touch. She knew his playboy ways during his college days and they used to make jokes about it. When uday was 25 years and well settled he proposed her and she accepted. They got married the very next month. Their marriage was magical, just like a fairy tale. Arthi gave him two lovely kids- tanisha and sanusha and their life was moving smoothly till about a year back when his daughter Sanusha died.

He had brought her a burger and after eating that she developed severe pain in the stomach. His wife was always never liked him buying the kids junk food as she found junk foods to be unhealthy. They had mild fights on this issue, however uday wanted his kids to enjoy their life and not restrict them at that tender age. And this belief unfortunately brought the death of their kid. She died of food poisoning, at such a young age. This shook the very foundations of their marriage. They even stopped talking to each other. They were like 2 strangers trapped together in the chains of matrimony, but proper counseling and interference of tanisha brought them together again , their pasts now forgiven. It was their future that mattered now. And uday wanted to do his best to save his marriage. Now they were like newly married couples, they needed each other physically every now and then, it was like a means to show that they really loved each other, no matter what obstacles come to their path. It was a means of assurance for them that they did have a TOMORROW to look forward to , that they did have a HAPPY FUTURE AHEAD of them.

Uday made his way to the kitchen , but stopped at the door to admire his beautiful wife , who was looking radiant this morning. Clad in only his shirt (from last night) , she was busy making toast for him and Tanisha.

Slowly , he crept up behind her and encircled his arm around her waist. Good morning Jaan , he whispered ... sending a shiver up her spine. Did I ever tell u how adorable you look in my shirt? , he said huskily.

YES -U DID , plenty of times , she scolded and wriggled out of his grip. Umm, where's my good-morning-kiss? , he enquired. I think u got enough of that last night UdayVeer Singh ... that should last u till the rest of the week , she mocked.

in a split second she was pinned to the fridge by her husband. Should I take that as a "NO" ?, he asked with a raised eye-brow.

The romantic mood was not to last as Tanisha entered the kitchen . She was rubbing her eyes and holding onto her stomach. I have a tummy-ache ... and it hurts bad! , she cried. Arthi was very aware that today was a math test , that Tanisha wasn't looking forward to ; and to her surprise , Uday was also well aware of it. He moved closer to the girl and lifted her in his arms: Should Daddy take u to the Doctor? NO DADDY ... it'll be better , I should just stay in bed today.

Uday and Arthi passed sly looks to each other. It was just Tanisha's plan of staying home today so that she didn't have to take that dreaded test. Is daddy's litle girl afraid of some stupid test? , Uday asked. No Daddy , my tummy really hurts - PROMISE!!!!!!! Okay , then Daddy is gonna take the day off , and we will go see the doctor ... and u will take an injection ; THEN YOUR TUMMY WILL STOP HURTING!!!!! The word "injection" terrified the child and she got off her father's lap immediately : The pain is not that bad - I think i'll manage! She ran off to get ready for school, while her parents hi-fived each other.

U: see, how deceiving your daughter is, just like you

A: oh, so she is MY daughter only?

U: yes, and she is your photo copy

A: and who was her father?

U: I don't know. You were busy na in your eh.. college days

A: oh, I see. So who is tani's father? Was it arun? Or satheesh or karan?

Uday pins her to the kitchen table and says

U: don't play games with me; she is my flesh and blood.

A: caught you.. he he he so now you agree na. why are you getting angry ? Can't both of us play the same game?

U: yes, and you get penalties when you win

A: wasn't it the other way round

U: na, its different when you're dealing with udayveer. Give me my kiss and if you want we can'

He was interrupted by a phone call. It was from his PA, jai.

J: sir, the delegates from the FLS Company are waiting for you, your meeting starts in about 10 minutes.

U: what 10 minutes, ok I will reach there on time.

Uday turns and tells arthi, "sorry I have to leave; I really don't want to go."

Arthi pushes him out. " go or you will be late"

Uday kissed her on her cheeks and left for work

The meeting with the FLS company delegates took most of the morning.

Uday was massaging his head; he was having a slight headache. Jai entered the room, she was wearing a short miniskirt and a tight T shirt. Uday groaned as he saw her enter, as if he wanted more headaches, when he already had one.

J: sir, congrats, we got the deal, the delegates were literally swept by their feet. Sir, you were just incredible. She said in a husky voice

Uday was getting irritated, these young girls, what do they think? Don't they have any morals? If he just gave her one green signal she would be willing to do anything, which includes everything. There were many bosses who slept with their PA's that does not mean he was like that. He had a family and he loved them, he would never ever betray them. He hated guys who had extra marital affairs. They should be publically shot.

U: jai, don't you know you are not supposed to wear such clothes in this office?

J: sir, but its summer na, and it's so hot. And I look good in this dress, don't I, sir?

U: jai, if you want your job, better behave yourself, or else I will be forced to show you the door, and dress decently please

J: ok sir, she said sadly and disappointed

Uday drove slowly towards the florist. It was becoming his usual routine to buy flowers for arthi. She loved flowers and he loved her innocent smile when he presented her with those flowers. Those flowers were a token of his love for his wife. It was small things like flowers that added spice to their life. He parked his car by the side of the road, and walked towards the shop. Today he felt something strange; it was as if a shiver went down his spine, a feeling of longing washed through him. he did not know why. He opened the door of the shop and that was when he spotted her, her back was facing him. the breeze from the side fan was making her chocolate brown hair fly. She was arranging the flowers in order, her milky white skin peeping now and then when her hair flew. She wore a salwar kameez. He was so much aware of her presence, was it her smell or smell of flowers, it was so intoxicating. He felt like he could not breathe.

As if sensing the presence of a customer, she turned behind. Uday's jaws dropped, was she an angel from heaven? Or was she dreaming? That face was so breath taking, so innocent; he felt the urge to protect her. That eyes dark brown seemed to hypnotise him, that pink full lips drove him crazy. The girl might be 18- 20 years, she felt uncomfortable under his stare. She cleared her throat and said

"can I help you?"
