Follow Your Heart Or Mind?

The implied question here is whether we should make a decision on the basis of emotion or intelect.

Unfortunately the two are inseparable. Even the best analysts will, at some point or the other, admit to "gut feeling". Similarly, extremely emotional people will also own up to "thinking" things through.

For situations where the head and the heart tug in opposite directions, I think it is better to follow the heart.

The head can be argued around but the heart, I fear, is inflexible and unforgiving.

hi eishu,😳

Its mind Not heart😊. Because :-

1) Mind can just which is good and which is Bad while Heart only feels and accepts it whether its good or bad with out justifieng it.😃

so if we follow heart its going like straight to "man hole" or 'dustbin'

Cheers

how very true!

well, i see it this way. if ur heart doesnt agree with something...then dont do it! however, if the mind tells u not to do something...just consider it. coz it may be true...it may not be.

well it something i read:
5 sensory organs ka swami mann hai aur mann ko dekhne wala mind (budhi) hai.
now nothing is acceptable with examples and proof...
if i m a diabetic and also have a sweet tooth ok and
doctor restricts me from eating sweet b'coz of high level of sugar level..u knw the disadvantages of diabetes
i saw a sweet thing which is my favourite let's say chocolate
now my heart says if u like it then eat it anyways to r taking ur tablets on time
but mind will remind u that no, docor has not told u to eat bcoz it will create problem
now it depends on me to choose whether to eat or not..
but mind alwys think the consequences b4 acting it is we who ignore the signals and listen to heart
we should always listen to our mind since i said that it is the senses that send signal to heart that i like it and hence i eat it inspite of the truth that i m a diabetic
what will happen to us if we don't listen to our heart if we hurt or some other emotion will hunt us but these r only emotions and that changes and can b changes

even a duffer can do what he likes but a intelligent person make every thing his favourite
hence we r intelligent to by our brain and not by heart

it is so easy to say - follow your heart !

its not always as easy to do as said !

i REALLY have to say...... this is a TOUGH one ! (it's really got me thinking..........when i apply this question to my own life.) 🤔

but i might just add - the heart is too gullible !

Isn't that true about the brain and kidney, not to mention all the other vital organs?
