There I saw it lay upon his hands, spears pieced right inside of it. Drips of its blood trickled down his hands right to the floor. My lifeless limbs carried me closer to him. 'Whose is that?,' I asked him stunned at the sight. Agony laced his voice when he whispered. 'It is yours.'
I gasped and backed away. The revelation was an overwhelming truth I could not bear to receive. This could not be true.
'But it is true. These spears that are stabbed at every corner is the truth. Every wound you see is inside of you. Every part of it has been inflicted and it has been covered with a layer of your numbing.'
'No it cannot be true,' tears trickled down my cheeks, 'so much blood...' He smiled, but it was sad as if he felt sorry for my denials. 'Who did this?,' I asked him unable to look away from the bleeding mess. 'People... Yet this isn't their fault.' He gently grasped my hands and placed the bloody mess upon them.
'It is your own fault,' he stated.
'What? How come is it my fault?,'
You never tried to heal yourself, but you numbed it. Have you not learnt the danger signs of numbing your pain? This is what is left inside. A pierced heart with nothing to heal its wounds. A band aid cannot always heal your wounds.'
'What do I do?,'
'Change it. Do something about it and stop taking this pain for yourself. Cleanse yourself from this toxic poison and let yourself heal. That is the only way these spears will come out.'
Entangled in my own sheets I gasped for breath as reality settled in. The ache in body reminded me that what I witnessed was all a dream; a dream that was a powerful truth. My eyes settled on the picture frame that was right beside my bed. I grasped the picture in to my hands and smiled as a drop of my tear fell right in to the glass frame.
'Thank you Arnav...'
