VIJAYAWADA: A steamy combination of live DJ shows, lip-smacking cuisine and electrifying fashion shows! The fun-loving denizens couldn't have asked for more on the New Year eve.

With corporate bigwigs, hotels and clubs vying with each other to have a slice of the new year fun, a host of new year parties would light up the night of December 31. Lighting up the night are Indian Idol-fame Karunya, Indian Idol 2005 winner Abjijeet Sawant, Indian Idol (East Zone) Rahul Pandey and Jatin Oberoi (cousin of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi).

Hotel Fortune Murali Park is organising Mardi Gras 2006 and Razzmatazz is the event manager. The show promises a exciting fare with Rahul Pandey and Kolkata-based DJ Sanjeev set to electrify the stage. Adding spice to the show, the organisers have roped in Gemini TV anchor Uday and item number dancer Ipshitha.

Meanwhile, a group of students from One Town are getting ready to dish out a scintillating fare on the grounds of Andhra Loyola College. Titled 'Abhijeet Unplugged', the show promises a fun-filled evening with live music of 3000 watt, performance by Abhijeet Sawant, games for family and children.

"We are expecting a crowd of 5000 for the show." Jitu, one of the organisers, said. At the Vijayawada Club, Karunya is all set the stage on fire. So, as the countdown starts for the new year, log into one of the shows.
