first of all, i dun think he actually wants to hurt gauri. he didnt wanna do all that stuff-- his mom forced him and blackmailied him into keeping the secret from gauri. shiv rlly rlly luvs ipshita, if u recall the way he spoke about the portrait, it was the one thing he treasured more than his life-- ipshita means everything to shiv and he didnt want to hurt her in anyway. granted that doesnt give him the rite to kill gauri and wat not, but the only reason he is still married to her is becuz of his helplessness... he is torn btwn his luv, his friendship and his duty as a son. shiv doesnt consider gauri as his wife... it was a relationship forced on him so he could fulfill the relationships more true and real to him...
shiv told gauri to go away and to save herself, he was dying of tremendous guilt becuz he is not bad at heart... he tried to do so much to get her to leave the house and the family-- not for him and his retarded shit, but for her, her safety and happiness. he never touched her nor tried to woo her. daksh didnt have the slightest bit of guilt-- she just continued his stoopid lust filled affair with his mistress. palak shouldnt have been making out with her boyfriend in a room... sumone who she doesnt wanna be with anywayz...
gauri should definately not be used as she is being used and i understand that. i, too, am a woman and would be terribly hurt and angry if anyone did that to be, escpecially sumone i have grown to luv unconditionally and trust as well. however, this doesnt mean i will not consider shiv's POV as well, which a lot of you are just disregarding completely...
Its okay u will defend Shiv, but his not a good person just because his feeling guilty inside for what he has done to Gauri. In the beginning he was so harsh to her because of his happiness, not coz of guilt feeling over using Gauri, he only changed after their honeymoon.
They all have misled an innocent persons life and betrayed a good friend. Shiv has already says he can not love Gauri back, tried every possible way to get her leave him, but he was never so honesty with her. By always telling about the painting he has mislead Gauri, without knowing that. He could openly have told he loves another person, but he could not be with her because of his kundali. A painting and a real person is not the same. He is giving her false hope by be nice to her, their eye looking scenes etc.
If he loves Ipshi so much, why could they just live together and she tied manalsutra on her own neck and make the whole world believe Shiv tied that on her, instead of sacrifice Gauri just like she was a lamb.
They could at least tell Anupam about their love, he considers Shiv as his little brother and loves Ipshita and his is their childhood friend. Ipshi always tried to avoid Anupam, but if she just open her mouth and said one word, she loves somebody else, he would never came near her, but she never do that. They all are just selfishly who just cares about their self. He and Ipshi will never have a happy life together. Shiv already feeling guilty, that will eat him alive.
Another thing, even if Ipshi was in Shiv's life even before Gauri as his lover, Gauri has full right on Shiv. She is his legal wife, so in the world eyes Ipshi is just a mistress. Gauri only came back because of her pure love for him, her love for him was more important than her life, and that shows how great she is.
