Was Ileana's role in the Telugu version a 'flowerpot' role? If so, maybe it's for the better that Deepika didn't end up bagging this one. However, commercially, this film will probably do well so Deepika may have missed out from that perspective.

IDK if its flowerpot the basic plot revolves around the guy and girl

Also Illeana was nominated for Telegu filmfare best actress in leading role award

Sometimes the actresses are there to just look pretty and mouth a few dialogues; but the role does not help the actress to showcase their talent. 😆

Some actresses are good at these roles and stick out due to their screen presence or talent; some get lost in the crowd. But of course, some less significant roles allow actresses to prove their mettle; some don't. I prefer seeing actresses in full-fledged roles instead of just being a damsel in distress or sidey to the hero.😆

I think it depends of work ethic of actreses

If you see Kareena in 3 Idiots had flower pot type length role. She had no more screen time or songs than the girls do in Salman or Akshay movies

But she worked good with what she had and made it stick out with a few nominations

Like Srk says no small role just small actors 😆
