Why is Rudolph’s nose red?

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history!

Sorry for the completely random topic, but why do you think Rudolph had a red nose? Especially one that glowed in the dark?

I think that when he was young, Rudolph got greedy and stuck his nose into Santa's fruitcake. The cherry on the top got stuck on his nose and refused to come off. 😛

What is your opinion about Rudolph's nose? Is there a specific reason in your opinion? Scientific? Magical? Something just plain weird?

Maybe he stuck his nose in radio-active chemical waste, hence the "glowing" effect. And the red, hmmmmm, maybe the radio-active waste was red😕

Obviously there is a scientific reason behind all this
He went to a circuis, and tackled a scienist dressed as a clown. The nose fell of, and so did the Magnesium in his hand. Magnisium went in th nose, and nose on to Rudolph. And when Rudolph get's mad, it heats up the Magnisium and tada...LIGHT!😆

One day Rudolph was struck by a lightening. He almost died but then he was struck by another lightening and and he was alive again and happy. But the electrical charge remained in him and his nose became red and began to glow😛.
