I think this will be a clean hit and won't require stupid excuses like subsidy, sale of merchandise or only overseas collections to give it "hit" status.

It depends on what content it has. OSO was an entertainer but it had some story despite all the glamour and madcap elements.

This film should have a story too.

SRK is not really accepted doing outlandish stuff. So I hope this film has more to it than just one liners, flying cars, romance and caricatures of South Indians.

Ideally I'd like SRK to do films like CDI that suit his stature, age and do justice to his talent.
In fact I want all Khans to display solid acting chops the way they did in films like CDI, Sarfarosh and Tere Naam (Salman's most heart wrenching performance!).

Rest depends on how this film is handled. It should not be just a series of gags and spoofs with no story to talk of. I think it will help SRK conect with Indian masses again - because it's desi in its flavour and not targeted at overseas audience alone.
If music is catchy then battle is half won.

I am looking forward to watching DPad in it.

But this film may fall behind D3 and Krissh 3. I do not think it can be year's biggest hit the way OSO was.

The times when SRK's film would invariably be the year's biggest hit are...past. I don't think CE or HNY can bring back *that* glory for SRK.

No offense to his fans. I just gave my opinion.

One thing I hope is this film should have a strong ensemble cast. Golmaal series, most of Aamir's recent hits and SRK's 90s hits have had advantage of good supporting cast.

If there are other characters and actors in the film that are also memorable (like Shreyas Talpade and Kirron Kher's characters in OSO) then film is helped greatly.

People talk about everything related to the film then, not just leads and this boosts BO prospects of a film.

Rohit Shetty has had good supporting cast in all his films. I hope he's aced this one too. Like Prakash Raj's character in Singham was also a star attraction apart from its lead.

Let's see what he's done this time.

@dex, to me the posters CE with the goons /gundas seemed silly !! And OSO personally didn't like it !! Main hoon naa which would also go into masalla was way better!! But as they say you never know what may click and not with an audience and SRK will get a decent opening, and movie probably do well how well we dont know!!
