Are Indian women over-possessive?

I was reading a blog where the guy wrote how inquisitive was his mother about all the girls in his college. I have heard stories of MIL-DIL tiffs because mothers just can't let go of their sons. There are nagging wives who question about the female colleagues and detest some for no reason. Do you think that over-possessiveness is a trait of most Indian/desi women? Is it a generalization?

These illustrations were on that blog.

LOL Maya & Dr. Abhi! So, is this a bash / comment on Desi women day??

.. I don't know whether desi women are possessive! I know soe dumb blondes 😆 😆 and desi men who are very possessive!! (heard of the body building wonder standing 4 feet tall- called salman khan?😆) Sometimes, being overly possessive is an indication of too much love.. (oh. how.. i miss the dating days 😭) sometimes, it is sheer distrust, or insecurity feeling. I do remember being told by a colleague from Shanghai that Shangahi men are very possessive! Scorpios are also supposed to be very possessive!
I think the feeling is quite general and not pertaining to any sex / region.

It is not exactly possessiveness....

It is an attempt to protect their interests and an attempt to ensure that the subject does not go beyond control 😉

Talking about moms wanting to her sons various interests..well that inquisitiveness!!

A very Indian motherly trait.
My mom wont leave me if I dont tell her what I had to eat at a College party.

The most irritating defense to this arguement is " for us you will always be a kid...so its ok for us to act this way..."

The first part is definitely scary😲. The second part is my daily routine😆.

Not just desi women. Anyone who has seen Marie's character in "Everybody Loves Raymond" will agree that this trait of over-possessiveness for their sons and husbands is prevelant in the West too. 😉
