Gajendrra and Karuna team up

They hope to recreate magic, but this time it will not be for Zee. Gajendrra Siingh, producer of hit shows like 'Sa Re Ga Ma' and 'Antakshari', and Karuna Samtani, who headed programming at Zee in its initial years, have formed a production house called Sai Baba Productions. They have teamed up again after about ten years, but this time, their first production will not be on Zee, but instead be on Star TV. They have got a contract for two huge musicals from Star TV. The channel has apparently given a huge budget for the same. The plans are big and the show would be mounted on a huge scale. Details of the concept are kept under wraps with no one from the channel or the production house willing to give details. The first show to go on air would be on the lines of 'Antakshari' and Annu Kapoor, associated with the Zee show since its inception, will host the show on Star, say sources. The hunt for the female anchor is still on. The show will go on the floors in January 2007. The anchors have not yet finalized for the other show, but if sources are to be believed, then Sonu Nigam may be part of it. Zee is also trying to put together the second season of 'Sa Re Ga Ma Challenge 2005'. Stars like Iqbal Khan and Rajeev Khendwal have been approached to anchor the show. The Zee show is still in planning stages whereas Star's show would go on the floor in January 2007. |
