At cutiepie rani, thanks for posting those examples. I'm not familiar with his work but his showcase at Cannes really made me think he was just sorely overrated. But I can see from his work in the pics you posted that he can make beautiful outifts. I dont understand why he didnt this time though.

No one's arguing about cultural heritage. Vidya herself is a fashion disaster so no one truly expected her to suddenly go in showy gowns like Sonam. Saris are most definitely her thing. The problem here is simply that Sabya is unable to handle criticism of his work.

But I think half the problem is Vidya herself. I feel like she wears these styles to cover her body fat. If you notice most all her sarees are conservative in that they don't show much body. The sleeves of the sarees are long for the most part. But idk Sabyasachi could have done a hell of a better job dressing her at Cannes. He def has it in him and he has made Vidya look beautiful before, don't see why he can't create the magic again.
