Yash & Aarti:The Soul Connection

A true soul mate is a mirror...the person who shows you everything that's holding you back...the person who brings you to your own attention so that you can bring your life to life.

Two broken souls walked one dark rainy night, unaware that the missing half was not the one that was gone but the one right next to them. They fought the elements and anyone trying to reach their hearts...they refused to look for any other. But then what was preordained could not be reverted. The destiny had played its cards long back...and so the entire universe conspired to make them find each other. Sometimes it was her dupatta, sometimes her hair...at other times handcuffs or a kangan...and if those were not enough, then he becoming the rescuer and being at the right place at the right time, whether saving her from falling into a dark hole or getting her back on the road. Howsover they tried to turn their backs to each other...they couldn't fight the inevitable. The fact is that the moment they had met, the unseen ripples had awaken their souls from the paralysis of the comatose past that they had subjected themselves to.

A soul connection is an echo, a resonance between two individuals who respond to each other's inherent essence, the beauty of each other's natures, behind their facades, connecting on a deeper level. He had awoken first...Even on that rainy night when they walked the path together for the first time, although his heart had made the still-unknown connection when it mattered to him what she thought about him, it was his eyes that perceived the beautiful spirit of a mother. He could look beyond her anger and misconception and absorb the quintessential woman who had abundance of love for her child. She connected to his beauty much later...when she connected to the father who put his life on line for a son he hadn't sired. Yet that horrible night when he lay bleeding in her arms, she recognized her bond to this wonderful man. That's when she fought back...and came back for him.

This kind of mutual recognition then forms the catalyst for a potent alchemy...a compellingly powerful transmutation...a change that presents itself to only the ones who are bound together on a soul level as soul mates. What's the difference then between a heart connection and a soul connection? The heart connection lets us appreciate those we love as they are, while a soul connection opens up an entirely new dimension: seeing and loving your mate for who they could be and for who they could become under your influence. This means to realize that both have an equal role to play in helping each other achieve the quintessence of their individual beings. With Arpita and Prashant they respectively had a connection of heart...Those two were the companion soul mates, and
not the other half of their souls; they were ones who played the role of guiding paths leading our soul mates to their destination . Therein lay the major difference in the dual love sagas of their lives.

What they were before they met each other was but a mere shadow of their real selves...a fact unknown to them, as such they accepted the ones life presented their way as their destiny and their life partners. Yet when those persons left them midway, they fell into a vacuum. Why? Why couldn't the love they found in those relationships help them continue walking...alone but with a completeness that only true love gives? It's simple actually...it's because they thought that the warmth ignited in their hearts because of the presence of Arpita and Prashant wasn't theirs, that it was transferred to them by Arpita and Prashant. They became obsessed with the idea of "love can happen only once" because they thought those two were the providers of love...when in truth, the warmth they felt came from the love they held in their hearts...ready to be given to that one person who would inspire them to break out of their shells. And when that person finally arrived in their lives...when Yash and Aarti finally turned toward each other...the love that resided inside the innermost core of their beings lighted their way. No one else could have provided that connection that finally puts ones soul at ease...
..

Yash and Aarti, today have achieved an ultimate level of symbiosis and serenity with each other...and this shall remain forever...till eternity.

Indu. This is quite possibly the most beautiful write-up I have ever read. I felt like I was watching Yash and Aarti collide with each other twice, then seeing them walk in the rain together...all of the moments from those days until this moment of serene unity (I won't say "final moment" because we all know that it is not) flashed in front of my mind's eye so rapidly as I read your words...I honestly have very little to say right now, because I am reeling from the resurgence of love that I have for this story. It is a love saga like no other and I will always remember it as one that drew me to it like a moth to a flame and left a lasting imprint on my heart.

Breathtaking post, Indu. Just breathtaking. I loved all of it. Your first paragraph, however, conjured up so many feel-good memories of Yash and Aarti's love journey, which has been filled with so many beautiful symbolic and emotional markers:

Their connection has always been so deeply emotional as well as intellectual, and, as I think about it now, maybe that is why they rarely need words to communicate. They've understood each other's emotional language from the beginning, but had difficulty accepting this understanding at first. The more they got to know each other, the more they fell in love. The more they fell in love, the more fluently and instinctively their hearts spoke to each other without needing any words -- that soul connection you've written about. What a wonderful and profound love story we've been allowed to witness unfold. ❤️

Transferring my reply from DC:

That was just beautiful!

What a fitting tribute to the essence of the story we have been privy to these last 15 months. The connection between Yash and Aarti is something that always existed; they just had to discover it to discover themselves. Without Aarti, Yash would never have discovered his depth of feeling as a father and without Yash, Aarti would never have known her beauty as a woman. They completed each other and their respective families. Ansh got his superman and Palak her role model for bravery. What their own kids couldn't see, the other's child saw in them and made them see in themselves. How I love this family!
