Nisha Sagar was awarded the Best Designer Award by ITA Hero Honda for her designs in Dhartee ka Veer Yoddha - Prithviraj Chouhan on STAR Plus. Nisha Sagar is very happy since this is the first time she has designed for a tele-serial, that too, a historical costume drama. "It's been a very tough exercise because there is not much available on Prithviraj Chouhan in history books. They all talk about his valour and bravery but there is not much description on his clothes or costumes. There isn't much explanation on the sense of dressing by kings and ruler of his era also. I searched all around for six months before zeroing down on the looks. Only a sketched picture is available that is drawn through the artiste's imagination. It's been a challenge for me as a designer because I had to work mostly with my imagination of his personality and pictures of other rulers in Mewar but I have thoroughly enjoyed it," says Nisha . To the young Prithvi, Nisha has given jamawaar with an embroidery of diamond and metal pieces. However, a grown-up Prithviraj Chouhan was a mammoth task. Though young and vulnerable, he also struck terror in the hearts of his opponents. The original long hair of actor Angad Bedi helped her a lot because it gives him a kind of wild but powerful royal grace. She gave him a brocade angrakha with a dhoti. Jewellery is contemporary of that period but something that would jell well with the personality of a warrior. His stole is made of tissue, with lots of embroidery. His mojari has gold/silver thread embroidery and traditional kasab work. "I went to Rajasthan to do the research. I have been through a lots of books to understand the original motifs and their meaning. But eventually all the hard work paid off and I could get everything right." Besides Prithviraj Chouhan, Nisha has dressed the five main female characters - Roop Sundari, Rajeshwari, Sanjukta, Kaarpuri and Nayantara.
