What else - but truck loads of tears, hours of struggle and sympathy stories, and a perfect portfolio to encash on drama 🤢
All previous seasons are examples enough!!
MCI-1: Winner was Pankaj, who had left her school job to participate in MCI.. A huge sacrifice of career... always high on drama and in want of sympathy! In comparison, Radhika or Jayanth did not have any sympathy master-stroke like hers
MCI-2: Nothing could be more appealing than the single mother story of Shipra, her struggle and buckets of tears! And a well to do upper middle class housewife but more talented Shazia faded in that factor compared to Shipra!
MCI-3: Yasmin now leads the pack on her sob story! Close competitors will be Navneet with his try and try again story, and Nisha with 24 years of cookery teaching experience at Rs 20 per dish!
A Ripu or even a Doyal stand no competition to these folks at all !!!
🤢

A very important thing is not to be financially stable, have a son story and cry buckets.
Perfect recipe for success in Masterchef

Tears, melodrama. Good to have some glamour quotient.

Aptly pointed out. To be a MCI winner 1 has got 2 have a difficult background with a tearful story 2 hype about and having 2 face life alone with kids with no support from anywhere would be the criteria and not 2 mention the fact that 1 has 2 be presentable too 2 a certain amount .

Agree with you completely. I am so frustrated with the judging criteria used in India's Masterchef. They always go for someone who will keep beating the trumpet on what they have done in life and how much they struggle. I always felt that Khoku was more genuine and really disadvantaged. But then sadly she didn't cry or use that disadvantage for her gain. I really feel that from the looks of the dishes Ripu deserves it but then poor guy has no sad story nor does he cries bucket. So guess no chance for him😭

To win Season 3 of MCI the most eligible candidates are Yasmin (tops the list) constant cribbing and crying and saying how much i am suffering oh god n stuff next is Navneet to show how great is MCI that you have to struggle to make it and unless ur good u dont come in next is Doyal with all her comedy and stuff.Nisha fourth on the list.PPl who dont stand a chance at all are Ripu and Sachin.Sachin is poor soul who is so lost that he must be wondering what he is doing here and Ripu doesnt know how to cry or cook up stories. The major funda in MCI is about cooking hold on not the dishes but stories esp emotional ones

One disadvantage that Yasmin has to be the winner though is her presentability and smartness of past winners - the MCI winner will host shows, give TV interviews, attend events, write cookery books in the future (like we have seen with Pankaj and Shipra)!
So if the channel capitalizes on her sob story and sympathy bank factor to make her the winner, they will also need to think about some finishing school grooming to work through her disadvantage.
