Chapter Fourteen

"Toh ek kaam karte hain, boys, aap sab jo saman lagega woh collect karo." Taani said. "Yes boss." the boys said. "Aur hum girls khane-pine ki arrangements dekhte hain." Taani added, winking at her brother.

Swayam sent the boys running all over the backyard and the attic to fish out something or the other, while he and Rey sat in the living room, making list of the things they would need.

Finally, when they were done, Vicky realized something. He said angrily, "Swayam, hum charo puri bhagam bhag kar rahe the, aur tum dono yaha aaram se baithe hue the. Not fair!"

Rey answered, "Vicky, hum sirf baithe nahi the. List bana rahe the. Tum logo ko yeh kaam diya hota toh buri tarah goof up kar dete!" Vicky said, "Haan, woh bhi hai… Excuse me! Kya Matlab 'goof up' kar dete?"

In the kitchen, Taani set the girls working hard preparing for the camp.

Taani : Girls, toh batao, kaha se shuru karein?"

Sharon : Food ingredients?

Simmi : Sharon, you're not that stupid! Khana banana hai toh ingredients se hi shuru karna hoga na?

Sharon : Simmi, main camp pe jo ingredients le jaane hai uske baare mein baat kar rahi thi.

Simmi : Oh! Toh woh kab batane waali thi…

Neha : Guys, stop! Neha thinking cooking pe concentrate important. Taani, we not knowing cooking.

Taani : We nahi Neha, you all don't know cooking. Aur waise main kis liye hoon? Cooking itni difficult nahi. Jise bataungi waise karte gaye toh jaldi hi we would be done!

Rinni said hopefully, "Let's hope aise hi ho!" She picked up a rolling pin and pretended to bash Aashi with it and everyone laughed.

Aashi said, "Main kya kehti hoon, hum pehle kal ke liye planning-types kar lete hai. Phir remaining ingredients-types mein aaj ke liye khana-types bana lete hai." Sharon nodded, "Perfect. Aaj ke liye manage kar lenge taaki kal kuch kum na pade."

The girls set to work. First, they made a list of the veggies and other ingredients they would need. Then, they packed them in boxes. Now for the day's dinner. Taani asked, "Kya banaye aaj?"

Everyone started thinking. Simmi said, "Boys se bhi kuch suggestions lele?" Rinni, "Haan.Amar canteen mein kaam karta hain toh uske paas kuch suggestions honge." Sharon said, "Rinni, Amar canteen mein waiter hai. Cook nahi! Anyways, let's go!"

When they girls entered, Vicky was saying, "Haan, woh bhi hai… Excuse me! Kya Matlab 'goof up' kar dete?"

Sharon asked, "Guys, help chahiye!" Swayam said, eyeing Taani "Kyun? Khana toh aap log bana rahe ho na?" Sharon replied, "Haan, khana hum hi bana rahe hai but suggestions toh de sakte ho na?"

The boys began pouring in their suggestions. And they began fighting over their own suggestions. Finally, Taani couldn't take it anymore. She pressed her hands to her ears and shouted, "Guys, stop! Koi zarurat nahi hai help karne ki. We'll manage on our own."

Saying so, the girls stormed off to the kitchen. In the kitchen, Sharon said, "Ab kya karein?" Taani said, "Ek kaam karna, aap sab bahar jaakar boys ke saath baithiye. Khana main bana lungi."

Neha asked, "Taani, sure you are?" Taani replied, "Yes Neha, main kar lungi. Aap log jao."

The girls went back to the living room. Vicky asked, "Yahan kya kar rahe ho? Keh rahe the ki sab girls khana banayenge. Ab kya hua plans ka?" Neha replied, "Taani so angry with boys suggestions, she cooking alone!"

Swayam said, "That's so like Taani." Rey asked, 'What do you mean?" Swayam explained, "Taani ko cooking bahot pasand hai, yeh toh abtak aap sab ko pata chal chuka hoga. But, Taani ko akele cooking karna zyada pasand hai. So usne obviously 'boys' suggestion' se angry hone ka bahana banaya hai!"

Sharon : So usne yeh sab hume kitchen se bahar nikalne ke liye kiya?

Swayam : No no no no… Maine asisa kab kaha? Woh kisi reason se stressed out hogi isliye hai. Ya phir main hi misinterpret kar raha hoon. Magar ek baat hai, ab aap logo ko bahar nikala hai, toh woh vapas Andar nahi aane degi aaj.

Vicky : Itna sab kuch bolne ke baad keh raha hai ki shayad misinterpret kiya.

Nilesh : Aur nahi toh kya? Soch ke bolna chahiye na.

Simmi : Tum dono Swayam ko bata rahe ho ki soch kar bolna chahiye? Joke of the Year!

Sharon : Baithe baithe bore nahi ho rahe. Kuch khelte hai na. Jab tak Taani kitchen se bahar nahi aati, tab tak hume time pass hi karna hai.

Swayam : Truth or Dare?

Nilesh and Vicky : Perfect!

Rey : Toh Truth or Dare hi khelte hai?

Guys, aap logo ko bata doon ki at this moment Taani kitchen mein bahot busy hai. She has no idea and doesn't care about what's going on outside the kitchen.

The gang starts their game. Rey turned the bottle. It came to a stop between Sharon and Swayam.

Sharon : So, Truth ya Dare?

Swayam : Truth.

Sharon : Okay. Taani ne ek baar mujhe bataya tha ki woh bachpan mein tumpar bahot pranks karti thi.

Swayam : Bachpan mein? Woh toh ab bhi mujhpar bahot pranks karti hai.

Sharon : Tum hume Taani ne tum par kiye kisi prank ke baaremein bataoge…

Swayam : (grinning) That's easy…

Sharon : Jo tumhare liye bahot embarrassing tha.

Swayam's grin faded as the gang's eyes lit up.

Vicky : Yeh toh bilkul humare type ka question hai.

Nilesh : Taani ne kiya hua embarrassing prank? Embarrassing ka raja hoga!

Rey shook his head, looked at Swayam and said, trying not to crack up, "Ab agar Sharon ne pucha hai toh tumhe truthfully jawab dena padega Swayam."

Swayam : So, aap logo ko details chahiye ya short summary bhi okay hai?

Simmi : Pehle summary batao. Achcha lage toh details bhi sun lenge. Right, guys?

Gang (except Swayam) : Right!

Swayam : Okay… (He took a deep breath) Toh main pehle one line mein bata deta hoon.

Rey : Swayam, suspense badhana band kar!

Swayam : Taani ne mujhe school mein ek baar Truth ya Dare khelte samay puri class ke samne ek ladki ko propose karne ke liye kaha tha.

Sharon : What!

Nilesh, Vicky, Amar and Bharat : Details!

Rey : Tune ek ladki ko propose kiya tha?

Swayam : Yeah. Woh actually, tenth class mein ek baar hum free lecture mein Truth or Dare khelte waqt Taani ne mujhe humare class ki ek ladki, Nisha, usse full class ke samne propose karne ke liye kaha, for a dare. Toh maine waise hi kiya. Usse pure class ke samne 'I love you' kaha.

Rinni : And?

Amar : And kyun? Thith ith emballssing enough. (This is embarrassing enough.)

Rinni : Phir bhi. Swayam, and?

Swayam : And usne haan kar di.

This time the whole gang yelled, "What!" so loudly that Taani came running out of the kitchen.

Taani : Kya hua? Aap sab chilla kyun rahe ho?

Nilesh : Taani, pehle hume yeh batao ki jab tume tenth class mein Swayam ko uss, kya naam hai uska, right, Nisha ko propose karne ke liye kaha tha tab Nisha ka response kya tha?

Taani : (smiling) Bhai, aapne sabko Nisha ke baare mein bata diya?

Vicky : Taani, please, response ke baare mein batao!

Taani : Aap itne hyper kyun ho rahe hai, batati hoon na. Okay, maine as a dare Bhai ko Nisha ko propose karne ke liye kaha. Bas ek prank ke taur pe. Aur unhone waisa kiya bhi. But Nisha ko yeh sab real laga aur usne haan kar di. Lekin jab baad mein Bhai ne usse bataya ki yeh prank tha, tab ussne Bhai ko itni jor se thappad mara ki kya batau.

Swayam : No Taani, don't lie! Usne thappad nahi mara tha.

Taani : Mara tha.

Swayam : How do you know. Tum to waha thi hi nahi.

Taani : bhai, aapko seriously yeh lagta hai ki aap usse batane gaye thi woh sab ek prank tha, aur main Nisha ka reaction dekhne ke liye wahan nahi aayi thi?

Swayam : Tum mujhe follow kar rahi thi?

Taani : There you are. Yes, main aapko follow kar rahi thi.

Swayam : Teri toh…

Swayam jumped up from the sofa to run towards Taani but she ran away into the kitchen sticking out her tongue at him.

Amar : Mujhe toh believe hi nahi ho laha.

Rinni : Right.

Simmi : Taani toh solid prankster thi school mein.

Suddenly, Rey felt a strong impulse that something gadbad was happening in the kitchen with Taani. He decided to check. He said to his friends, "Main jara paani piker aata hoon." and got up.

When he reached the door of the kitchen, he saw Taani struggling with a pot of water. Apparently, the pot was heavy and Taani couldn't lift it. He almost surged forward to help Taani with it, when some water fell down from the pot and spilled to the floor. Taani put down the pot and looked around the room for something. She hadn't noticed Rey yet.

Taani said to herself, "Yeh pocha kahan hai? Are, woh toh uss tarf hai. Paani par se jump karna padega. Krishnaji, todhi help kar dena."

She jumped over the water. But, her foot fell on the wet floor and she slipped. She closed her eyes tightly and waited for the fall but it didn't come. Somehow, Rey had again caught her. They were pulled into an eyelock.

Rey came to his senses first and made Taani stand up properly. Taani said, "Dance Face Off ke baad aaj giri hoon. Tab bhi aap saath the, aaj bhi aap yahi khade the. Shayad yeh Krishnaji kya signal hai, ki aap mere liye bad luck hai. Jab aap saath hote hai tab main gir jaati hoon."

Rey said, "Ya shayad jab bhi tum girti ho, tab tumhare Krishnaji mujhe tumhare paas bhej dete hai, so that I catch you when you fall." He looked at Taani and once again they had a LLHH.

Precap : Sharon jealous about Nisha and Swayam. She talks to Taani. Taani tell Sharon the full story of Swayam's dare, as also the parts that even that Swayam didn't have the slightest idea that Taani knew about them.
