Meera keeps on egging on Alaka continuously to acknowledge her feelings for Shan but Alaka doesn't budge. Meera even tells her that Shan Uncle had agreed to marry Alaka if she agrees only and what would her answer be? It should be yes. Alaka doesn't answer but she steps back and refuses to answer. Meera goes away. 😕
After Meera's departure, Alaka is crying when her antaratma makes an appearance (looking extremely beautiful in a red saree and decked with jewelleries 😳). Alaka's subconscious mind asks her why she is trying to push her inner feelings deep into the rut from where it cannot be revived again. It tells her that she should remember that she's still alive and should decide her own course of action for life. As Alaka looks unconvinced, her antaratma tells her if she is so sure of her answer to Shan's question then why didn't she tell NO to Meera, why did she just step back, when her daughter had stressed that this was not the time to stress back, but to move ahead to secure one's life? Alaka fails to answer these questions and is left crying alone. ðŸ˜
Back at Subhadra Masi's room, Shan is telling Masi that all these are hurting Alaka very much to which Masi answers that this is for her welfare and Alaka needs to answer these present questions so as to secure her past. Shan tells her that Alaka will never agree to the proposal. Meera comes to her Nani's room and informs Subhadra and Shan that although Alaka had not agreed to the proposal, she hasn't said NO either. And that Meera would find ways to make her answer to the issue of her marriage with Shan. Subhadra and Meera leaves the room leaving Shan behind, who says to himself that if there's only one person in the world who can get an answer from Alaka on the issue of remarriage, its him and no one else and that he would approach her pretty soon. 😳
Subhadra and Meera sees Alaka standing in the terrace in the cold and pouring Ganga water over her as if to rectify her sins. Subhadra wonders that since Alakananda is another name for Ganga, then how come Alaka is trying to cleanse her sins when she is not at fault? Meera goes to her Mother and tells her that why is she doing all these and according to Alaka, what is the synonym of sin? Alaka remembers that many years before, she had attended a meeting wherein she had mentioned that to have a clean heart was the most essential thing and that to bear exploitation is as harmful as to be exploited in turn.
The next morning Meera is very happy and Abhi, taking advantage of Meera's happy mood, reminds her of promising to take him for sight-seeing Benaras. Meera doesn't agree to at the beginning but later agrees to Abhi's request. The two of them are on a bicycle together, while the song 'Do dil mil rahe hain magar chupke chupke' (from Pardes) plays in the background. At the same time, in the Bharadwaj House, Shan is trying to speak to Alaka who keeps on evading him.
Gauri is trying to wear the dupatta of her salwar correctly when Alaka sees her and comes inside the room. Gauri tells her that she wants to dress like an Indian girl, Alaka tells her that she will help her. Alaka makes Gauri wear a bindi, a pair of danglers, a necklace and stuff, and after she's finished, comments that Gauri is looking very good. Gauri tells her that if her Mother had been alive, she would have been doing all these for her. Alaka smiles and replies that she will help Gauri. She tells Gauri that it's not a big deal to look like an Indian but to actual feel like an Indian and value our culture and tradition. 😃
Abhi is not driving a car and Meera is sitting beside her. Abhi tries to extract positive answers from Meera about her choice, but Meera keeps on giving negative answers. Abhi decides to force Meera into answering correctly and starts driving the car faster. Meera gets scared and in her scared state, tells Abhi that she likes him. After she realizes what she has done, Meera gets down from the car and runs into a park. Abhi follows her and catches hold of her and asks her whether she loves him or not. Meera doesn't answer anything and runs away again. 😳😳😳
Back at the House, Shan finally finds Alaka alone in front of Lord Krishna, where she's asking God why she is being troubled with so many questions, questions that she had no answer for. Shan comes and tells her that if Alaka had not committed any crime, then why is she so afraid of answering questions about relations that existed so many years earlier and which is the greatest truth? Alaka runs away from him and goes out. As she is alighting the steps to the temple, Shan follows her and keeps on questioning her. Its raining very hard and both of them are completely drenched. At one point, Shan tells Alaka that the next step that she takes will determine her future – whether she would continue all alone in her colourless life. Alaka thinks for a minute and then steps down to the next step, barefooted. She misses a step and is about to fall down, when Shan catches hold of her and picks her up in his arms. He then starts walking up the stairs determinedly while Alaka is mortified. 😳 😉 😃
Standing on the temple courtyard is the head priest who sees Alaka in Shan's arms. He thinks that since the widowed bahu of the Bharadwaj House is in the arms of the son of the same house, this is surely going to spell trouble for all. 😡
