Chapter 1

14th February, 2007

03:58 AM

He knew he was not supposed to do this but he was hardly in a position to think rationally. Two years of his stay in the place, he had allowed her to come too close to him and now, it was hard to push her away from him. He tried, had been trying, but failed in that. She was stubborn, who wanted to be with him, and tonight, there was no backing off. She wanted this, as much as he wanted. When he saw her the first time, he knew he could not ignore the sparks he had. With two longs years of fighting within himself, he gave up for once and for all, allowing his desires took over him, not caring about the aftermath of his actions.

He had been wanting for this more than he liked to think. Lowering, he trailed his mouth down her neck as his hand gripped her shirt, pulling it impatiently, popping out the buttons. His eyes fixed on her exposed skin with her black lace lingerie contrasting her milky skin. Beautiful, he thought with a smirk. Just the way he thought about her. Throwing the shirt away on the floor, he cupped her br***ts while his mouth crushed on hers, making her swallow a groan in his throat. Her hands moved up from his chest, to his shoulders, around his neck and settled on his hair, pulling towards her. She asked, in her actions, what she wanted and he had no intentions on not giving just that. Not tonight. Not after the long wait. The morning had their separation in store for him. The dawn would bring another chapter in his life, with another case, and he would be surrounded by criminals.

Pushing those thoughts aside, he focused on the girl in his arms. He held her to him, his hands on her ass as he strode her to the bed behind her. He pinned her hands in one of his, above their heads, his mouth worshipped her body. The room filled with her moans, encouraging him further. "Don't,"she whispered when he slowed down, making him look at her, "stop…", and arched her body to him, pressing against him.

But however, he had other things going on in his mind. With a turn, he made her on top of him and smirked. Unclipping her lingerie with one swift motion, he winked at her. "For tonight," he said, his voice rasped and rough with naked desire in the tone, "I want you to have control over me. f**k me the way you like it, babe. Do it."

The smirk on her face satisfied him. She liked the idea. She had always had this wish to have control over him and he gave her just the same. The second that she wished to have from him out of three. The first being accepting his lust on her and he was giving it for tonight; the third being him to keep her near him forever; which he would never do. He never did relationships and he was not going to change it at any cost. She sat up and straddled him, while his hands did their job in worshipping, and guiding her. Closing his eyes, he captured the moment, her moans, and his groans, in this darkly lit room. Far from the world, near to her, he felt content. Satisfied.

"Arnav"

She moaned his name as she fell on him after a long time, tired. Tears made its way and fell on his chest as he kissed her head. He patted her back, up and down, and smiled hearing her steady breaths. Bringing his arms around her in a tight yet comfortable grip, he thought about her and his stay in the place. The path he chose as his career was dangerous. He had no guarantee on his own life, and he never wanted to put her in his path. Every second, he played with death. He had plans and he was glad to succeed in them. He knew she would be broken, and what they had between them changed drastically, after their actions a while ago. But she knew that it was the only thing he could offer to her and she hugged that with a smile. It was bound to happen. The first rays of sun made its way to the room, radiating her face with glow. Kissing her for the last time, he placed her on the bed, carefully, pulled the quilt over her and dressed himself. "Goodbye," he whispered in her ears with broken voice.

With one last glance, he left the room… and her.

1st January, 2013

06:57 AM

Arnav Singh Raizada rolled his eyes under his sun glasses.

Nothing would irritate him much as an early morning meeting did. He was never an early riser and his boss, much to his annoyance, would have the meeting set at 8 AM every Monday. Controlling his rising temper, Arnav took his seat and set the Starbuck's coffee on the table in the conference hall number 7. He watched the file cover for a long minute before opening it to check the matter for the meeting. It was hard to set his mind in the room. Monday morning's meetings were always an update of what was going on in everyone's cases. He never understood why the boss insisted it on Mondays, instead of Saturdays. What surprised him was that the boss asked for him to have a private conversation at 7, which meant only thing. He was going to have another assignment.

It was just Friday that he wrapped up an operation that he had been working for months now. It was, of course, successful and all Arnav wanted to do was to have a good hour's sleep and catch up with his family for a while. The last time he met them was three years ago, during his younger brother's wedding. Though he was being in contact with them every now and then, his mother was acting weird for a while, calling him up twice a day and having long lectures and sentimental talks, saying that he was not caring for her or the family and that they lost their son years ago.

He needed a break from his job, his family had ordered. He was supposed to meet a woman that evening and he wanted to screw it up at any cost. Nothing or no one could make him change his opinion on the matter. True, people in his department would have their personal lives and it was because of their own personal opinions. Arnav had no interest to have a life other than his job, at least for now. He never gave a thought regarding the matter. Now, all he wanted to do was escape from the hall and close his blind date for the day. It was his fifth date in past two months that had been arranged by his family.

He watched his boss a.k.a special agent in charge of Delhi branch, Ajit Verma, in his late fifties; enter the hall with a Starbuck's coffee cup. It was clear to Arnav that he was going to have another hectic job ahead. With a sigh, he settled on his seat comfortably, as his boss grinned at him, pointing the file. "I hope you are aware of that, Raizada," he asked with a hint of sarcasm dripped from his voice, "I want you to take care of this, starting from now."

"And what exactly the case is about?"

Arnav asked in return without commenting and heard his boss say, "why don't you go to the scene and look at it yourself? You will be thrilled, trust me." It was the end of the conversation; he could see it as his boss called out another officer to be sent into the hall. With a sigh, Arnav took the file and cup and made his way to the destination.

It took 45 minutes for him to reach the destination. He took in the crowd surrounded the vehicles. Media people started covering the news, informing whatever news they had and few were questioning the Inspector. With a stern glance over the crowd, he instructed the constable to clear them in a minute and made his way to the hotel room. There he saw the couple lay on motionless, man on the floor and woman on the bed. He watched the Inspector running towards him and nodded as the man filled in the details. "Good Morning, Agent Raizada. The room service got a blank call and when checked, found them dead. We got the call around 5:30 and informed the CBI by 6:15."

Arnav nodded at the Inspector, taking in the surroundings and the bodies. "Send them to the forensic lab," he instructed and examined the bag that was on the coffee table, "and why does the CBI involved in the matter?"

"The man is the leading politician's illegitimate son." That brought him to look at the crime, Arnav thought. Emptying the bag, he found woman's accessories, few credit cards and an album with the couple in compromising positions. "This might be a blackmail case then," the Inspector offered his guess on the case, watching the photos along with him, "considering his background."

Not commenting back, he said in a low voice, "thanks for filling me up, and I would like the police department back off from this case, Inspector." With that, he called up his team and informed them to meet him at the place. After saying the account numbers, he asked one of the members,"bring the records on these credit cards, Aman, and details on the transactions the cards had from past 48 hours."

Thanking a constable for offering the coffee, he walked to the window, his gaze fixed on the road. This was the routine of his life from past ten years. Meeting criminals, solving the mysterious murders and few undercover operations and few torturous meeting with his supposedly prospective brides by his mother's force and rejecting them successfully… he was content. But there was that void in his heart that had created when he left her never allowed him to be at peace. Closing his eyes, he welcomed the pain with her eyes twinkling at him.

Chapter 2

He went through the records Aman handed him while the team took care in examining the room. Reports from forensic lab would take few more hours and in the meanwhile, he wanted to go through the credit bills. Nothing stood outstanding in that except one thing. One of the cards had been used twice in last month and one last night to the same account transaction. That should be checked right away, he knew it.

"We got the address of the person," Aman informed with pride that he had his work done properly, "and Mr. Chatterjee wants to meet you in his office."

With a cult nod, he dismissed Aman and walked few feet away from him, lost in his thoughts. The person had been givin money for three times and it was strange. The case was not just blackmailing one, Arnav had the opinion from the time the Inspector suggested in the hotel room. The couple would never collect those compromising photos in an album if that was the case. They would, at least, hide them in a secret locker. His mind searching and rejecting each possibility. And the meeting with Mr. Chatterjee, the supposed political leader, would drain the strength out of him. How much he like to have cases solving, these meetings with any political person was never in his list. "I am not going to meet him for now, until I meet this person first. Aman, check the reports the forensic lab that will be here in a while." The man cringed at the order, Arnav watched but paid no attention. Turning to the others in his team, he barked few orders what to do and stopped at his most trusty agent in the team. "You are coming with me to this person." He said and made his way, knowing that the agent would follow him, ignoring fuming Aman.

This was the most irritating situation in the team. Aman was working under him for four years with successful record but however, always wanted to be the only one to do difficult tasks. The man was talented, brave and courageous, yet that egoistic nature never pleased Arnav. On the other hand, NK joined him team a year ago, when the man succeeded his undercover operations for few years in Mumbai. And had no egoistic whatsoever which made Arnav pick him up for every important meetings. "The photographer is damn talented," NK commented with a smirk in his usual flirting sense, "look at those photos, Arnav. They are damn sexy. I must say, they have life in them."

The mobile vibrated in his pocket and without looking, he knew who it might be. The only one who would call him every morning around the same time. Mom. With a groan, he answered the call to hear her shouts. Cutting her right at the start, he said hurriedly, "I am in the middle of an investigation, Mom, can we please continue this sometime later?" but he knew the answer. And he heard just the same as "you have no time for me, Arnav. Now, don't tell me you want to cancel the date." Arnav sighed, glaring at now grinning NK who drove towards the person's flat, "Mom, this isn't time for the discussion and I don't want to put this woman in danger now, can I?"

How was he supposed to convince his mother, who wanted him to get married? He would have done, years ago, if he had chosen different career path. The feeling he had for her was more than just attraction, he knew it now in clear terms. The separation provided him answers to his innermost feelings and provided time to suppress those emotions. Death was second skin to them. Hadn't he seen agents being killed in their operations and their families, their wives, painful outburst and leaving a lifeless lives? He didn't want to give that fate to her when she gave love to him. Most dangerous thing, he didn't want to put her life at risk, considering the number of enemies he was gaining with every passing second.

"You need a companion, Arnav," his mother whispered after a brief silence, "every man needs his woman at certain age. You are 30 now, and I want to have your kids to play, be it typical mother."

The pain in her was clear, visible. But the pain and fear of losing his loved one was hidden deep in his heart, providing enough strength to show the world, that he was a heartless CBI agent. He wanted to have his woman in his life, and he would never accept that. Coward that he was when it came to relationships, "I will come home once this case is closed," he said, wanting to stop the talks, "right now, I am busy, Ma. I am sorry, need to go. Bye."

And in an instant, he felt that stab in his heart, those huge brown eyes twinkling at him with a smirk. The happiness she felt when he gave her control over him on that night. The way she always brought breakfast and dinner, at any time, sneaking around him all the time with fear that she would be caught by her father. Everything that he had with her ran in front of him in a blur.

Khushi Gupta stared at them with interest.

Aakash Mehra had called him and asked her to be free in the morning and she agreed to him, cancelling her other appointment and rescheduling it later that week. She was unable to say no to the man, and so she was in that semi lit room, checking the man through her lens. Aakash met the woman in flight on his way back from Chennai and happened to like and wanted to present the woman a memorable gift. When said his plan, the woman liked the idea and thus, they were in the room, in front of her.

The woman was hardly dressed, with a white silky tank top with a thong while Aakash had his boxers on, and nothing else. Khushi had that rule; no couple had to be completely naked. There was no exception for Aakash. "Turn left, dude," she instructed with a grin, "and forget that you have audience, Lisa. Just focus on making out with Aakash." She set the lens and watched them deepening their kiss through lens and clicked, capturing the moment. Their chemistry was mind blowing, and Khushi smiled at her friend, and his playboy nature.

She watched him pinning Lisa further deeper on the comforter, her legs wrapped around his hip, body arched to him, while his lips trailed down on her neck, with her tank top moved up, revealing her waist. Another click. Khushi adjusted the lens and changed the position, turned on another focal light that fell on Lisa's eyes, darkening their bodies, while her hands were in his hair. Click. Satisfied with the work, she turned on the lights, providing brightness. "Now, move your butt, Aakash. No sex in my flat." She warned him when he grinned and Lisa lowered her head, with heavy head.

Giving them privacy to dress up, she escaped the room, and found Lavanya working on her breakfast. "Lucky you to see live po*n every now and then," she commented with mouthful of fries, "so, how's Lisa with Aakash?"

"You don't believe me," Khushi replied, grabbing her own plate filled with cheese fries, a hot dog and orange juice, "Aakash is the perfect man who knew how to have control over his woman. I never came across with any such man who has that effect on women in my life."

"A woman will bow her head to a dominant man when he touched her body, Khushi. But a woman will long to give him the control over her willingly, if the man touched her heart. When you met that man, you will understand the difference between Aakash and him."

Khushi bit her lower lip, knowing what Lavanya was speaking about. True, however control Aakash had on his women, it was different with that one man who touched her heart, and she never saw such intensity in anyone's eyes for their woman. Closing her eyes, she let her heart wander around those whiskey eyes, who left her, years ago, after giving her the most memorable night. She tried hard to forget him and move on in life, as if nothing ever happened. Her father was not pleased by her career choice, fought with her and disowned her but nothing made her change her interest in it. Thus she became what she was now, capturing the couple's intimacy and erotic sensations. The job was fun, with great income. She would use her money in donating to the needy people. Partying all night, roaming around the city and having photo sessions thrice in a week… her life was content, except for his absence.

She watched Aakash and Lisa leaving the flat, to continue in his flat whatever they stopped a while ago. He was the one to support her, when her family disowned her due to her career option. He showed her the path to reach her goal. He introduced her to Lavanya, his best friend since childhood, and the women started living in the flat from the time they met. Khushi liked them, her only family in the world. Lavanya was a resident doctor in a reputed hospital firm, while Aakash was the only heir of top industrialist in the country. They were the only people who never judged her character by her work.

"I might not come tonight," Lavanya said, kissing her cheek, "have two surgeries and a date."

The worst headache started from its roots, as she thought about the man she loved, just like any other day. Ignoring the pain on her head, she stripped herself, had a shower with cold water, and made her way for the day. She had planned to go to the party in the nearby club. New year that was. With a smile as he remembered how Lavanya and she crashed a party and soon became friends with the host. Shyam Jha, she smiled at the name, was her date for the day. The man was trying to hit her, but she had no interest on him, on any man. But having a man by her side in a party seemed good idea. The chime rang on the front door, indicating the guest. Looking at herself for one last time, she ran to the door to open and her breath stuck in her throat, at the man in front of her, his whiskey eyes reciprocated her shock.
