Chapter 19

Taani was sitting and crying. She was feeling very guilty. Kiya walks and sits next to her. Taani was shocked seeing Kiya there. She quickly wipes her tears but her eyes were swollen and kajal was spread. Kiya looks at Taani and points her finger to her eyes indicating her kajal. Taani wipes her eyes, and looks at Kiya, Kiya nodes her head and makes an expression saying the kajal is still there, She removes a tissue from her bag and gives it to Taani. Taani takes it and wipes her eyes, Kiya gives a small smile saying its fine now. They both were sitting there quietly for few minutes.

Kiya: College mein Panchi ne bataya ki (she didn't know how to say it, she remains silent for few minutes, she closes her eyes, takes a deep breathe and continues) Panchi is upset with you, you shouldn't have done all this Taani. Look what a mess you have done now, You and Rey!! Dono ne milke sab gadbad kar di hai.

Taani: (feeling even more bad) Sab kuch galat ho raha hai Kiya! (tears start flowing) Chachaji mujse baat nahi karna chahte, Chachiji mujpe gussa hai, Panchi bhi muje avoid kar rahi hai, Aur Yuvi? (she lifts a pebble and throws it in the water) sab mujpe upset hai! (looks at kiya) Tum bhi toh muje hi blame karogi na ab?

Kiya: (looks at the birds flying) Haan, jab Rey aur mera break up hua, toh mann hi mann meine bohot blame kiya tuje!

Taani: (shocked) Break up?

Kiya: (looks at Taani) Yeah! I knew it was coming, maine puri koshish ki ek Achi (stresses on the word "achi") Girlfriend banne ki, but it didn't work out. Maybe me and Rey were not meant to be together.

Taani: (sadly looks at Kiya) Ab tumhe bura nai lag raha? I mean..(she didn't know how to express her feelings)

Kiya: (smiles) Nahi, ab muje lagta hai should go back to KD!!

Taani: (confused)KD???

Kiya: Yeah KD… (does the inverted comma sign with her fingers) "The Keshav Dessai" humara college mein padta hai. My Ex boyfriend, wohi sahi hai mere liye! Hez just perfect for me! Jab bhi koi problem hoti hai tab knowing ya unknowingly its always KD jo mere help karega! (looks at Taani) Yeah yeah I know break up k badh m supposed to be all sad n all, Thi main sad!! 2 gante washroom mein batke roti rahi, lekin you know mera rone ka reason kya tha?

Taani: kya tha?

Kiya: main roh isliye rahi thi ki main KD k saath breakup karke iss Rey k saath kya kar rahi thi? Muje isliye bura lag raha tha ki maine KD k saath break up kia! And thats how I realized ki muje actually sacha wala love toh KD se tha! Rey was just a mere attraction. Acha dikhta hai, acha ladka hai, ek acha friend hai, iska matlab ye toh nahi ki usse ishq wala love ho jayega! Main confused thi! (looks at Taani) Jaise ki ab tum ho!!

Taani looks at Kiya, kiya was right, Taani was confused, confused between two guys!!

Kiya: m glad ki maine time pe realize kar diya ki who is more important to me!! Tum kab karogi taani? Main ab yeh bol nahi sakti ki der hone se pehle realize kar do! Because even you know ki bohot der ho chuki hai!

Taani: (helpless) ab main kuch nahi kar sakti Kiya! Sab gadbad ho gayi! Main Yuvi ke saath kyu hu! Muje nahi pata! Muje sirf itna pata hai ki.. i…

Kiya: (Smiles, encouraging Taani) come on Taani say it!! (smiles and holds her shoulders) Say it Taani!!

Taani: (swallows her saliva and smiles) I Love Rey!!

Her heart was beating even when she saying this to herself, but she didn't know why is she saying this infront of Kiya, she had not accepted it to herself yet! But now she could say it, and she meant it. She was smiling now, She could tell this to Kiya, the girl she never liked, but Kiya proved to be some1 who understood her when no1 else did! As the saying goes, "Your worst enemy could be your best friend, and your best friend your worst enemy!!" And right now Kiya was playing the part of her best friend, and Yuvi?? Well, she thought he hated her the most this moment.

Scene shifts

Rey was looking out for Yuvi every where, finally he see's Yuvi's jepsy outside a pub, Rey quickly runs inside the pub and see's Yuvi sitting with few beer bottles, talking, blabbering something to the waiter. Rey walks and stands to him and holds his hand

Rey: (strict tone) Yuvi chal,

Drunk Yuvi looks at Rey, and gives him a smile, and looks at the waiter

Yuvi: (to the waiter) tume pata hai ye koun hai?

Waiter looks at Rey and yuvi, he turns to walk away but drunk yuvi stands and holds the waiter's hand.

Yuvi: maine pucha, tume pata hai Rey koun hai? (waiter remains silent, drunk Yuvi keeps his hand on rey's shoulder) Ye mera Best friend hai, mera Bhai hai yeh!! Bachpan se leke aaj tak agar maine apne aap se bhi zyada kisiko trust kiya hai na, toh wo Ye hai.

Rey : (just looks at Yuvi) Yuvi ghar chal, lets go!

Yuvi: (drunk, yells) NO!!! (stands on the chair) attention ladies and gentleman!! (looks around and hits his forhead) yaha toh koi ladies nahi hai!! khair chodo, mujko ek important insan se milane hai sabko! Mera dost, mera bhai!! Mere dil k sabse kareeb… (points out to Rey) Reyansh Singhania!! Taliya (starts clapping, all drunk men in the pub start clapping)

Rey looks around and then at Yuvi and tries to hold him as he was swinging left to right,

Yuvi: Punjab ka… (nodes his head) nahi nahi, pure india ka… (again nodes his head) pure world ka sabse acha dancer koun??? (points out to Rey) Reyansh Singhania! Taliya!!! (starts clapping and all the drunk men join him)

Yuvi: Meri laila(his jeep) ko mere alawa agar koi chala sakta hai , toh wo koun?? (points to Rey) Reyansh Singhania!! Taliya (starts clapping and the drunk men follow him)

Yuvi: Mere baap se main agar kisike liye ladta raha toh wo koun???(points out to Rey) Reyansh Singhania!! Taliya (all men clap 1^st and then Yuvi claps, Now Yuvi was serious, Rey could see it in his eyes,

Yuvi: meri girlfriend… (he loses his balance and was about to fall but somehow balances on the table, he continues) meri girlfriend agar mujse zyada kisiko importance deti hai toh wo koun?? (there was silence for few minutes, then all drunk men yelled together)

Drunk men: Reyansh Singhania!!! Taliya!!

All drunk men start clapping, Yuvi looks sadly at the drunk guys and then at Rey, Rey didn't know what to say, he tries to speak to Yuvi, but Yuvi continues,

Yuvi: main jab taani ka haath mangne gaya tab Taani ne mujse zyada jisko importance di wo koun??

All drunk men: Reyansh Singhania! (And they start clapping)

Yuvi: Toh ap batao! Taani jisko pyaar karti hai wo koun???

Drunk men: Reyansh Singhania!! (all men started clapping and howling and banging the tables,

Yuvi was seriously looking at everyone, everyone was laughing, whistling, he looks at Rey , Rey was staring at him, Rey could feel that he was hurt!Rey hold Yuvi and Yuvi gets down from the chair, Drunk YUvi couldn't stand properly, with great difficulties Rey manages to take him out from the pub and makes him sit in his jeep.

Rey: chabi de!!main tumhe ghar drop karta hu!

Yuvi: (smiling) Taani ko mujse chin liya, ab laila ko bhi lena chahta hai tu? (looks at the key and then at REy) thik hai!! Laila ko tu rakh!! Par Taani ko muje de! (he had tears in his eyes)main usse bohot khush rakhunga! Papaji ko phir se mana lunga! Datenge, tana marenge, par Taani k liye sun lunga yaar!

Rey didn't know what to say, Yuvi's condition bought tears to his eyes. Yuvi!! The guy who would always smile, always make things right, always be positive, was hurt today, was sad today!

Yuvi: main na…main sab kuch seh lunga, papaji ka gussa, sabkuch !! par Tani mujse pyaar nahi karti ye sochte hi kuch hota hai mann mein yaar! Nahi acha lagta kuch!! (bangs his fist on his jeep bonet) laila bhi achi nahi lagti! Taani Ayi thi aaj mujse baat karne! Bohot kuch bol diya usko maine!! (with tears) usko rulaya yaar maine! Roke chali gayi wo! Pehli baar rulaya meri Taani ko!! Bohot galat kiya(slaps himself)

Rey : Yuvi kya kar raha hai tu? (stops him)

Yuvi: (weeping) bohot galat kiya!

Yuvi looks at Rey and hugs him and starts weeping, Rey didn't know what to do, things were messed up. And he was the reason for it, he holds Yuvi's head with one hand, he was controlling his tears!

Taani: (waves her hand to herself)Hiee Rey!! (frowns and puts her hand down) nahi… aise thodi propose karte hai? chal once more try karti hu, (closes her eyes, takes a deep breathe and opens her eyes, smiles ) Rey, main tumse pyaar kartu hu! (stops again)

Rey: (yells) tera dimag kharab ho gaya hai Yuvi!! Tu pagal ho gaya hai!!
