I only skimmed through today's episode, I will watch it fully later on. So I don't know if this has been addressed or not. I'd been wanting to say this since two days back when Shyama discovered the herbs. But Alokha's behavior with Shyama today made me finally make a post on it.
As I said, I don't know if this was addressed on the show, and if Alokha in today's conversation said anything to Shyama regarding Akhil.
But it's a must that Shyama should tell Akhil. I know the thought is going to be that Alokha is his mother and she shouldn't just tell him something like that about his mother. And there's also that prevailing thought that daughter-in-laws shouldn't tell their husbands about their mothers' bad treatment, etc.
To that I say, no. Akhil deserves to know, he needs to know. Especially now that Alokha questioned Shyama how she knew what the herbs were for. It would be regressive for Shyama to keep this from Akhil, the husband who's supported her and knows everything. Not only that, both Akhil and Agastya have been shown not to just take and accept anything Alokha says just because she's the mother.
Akhil firmly and authoritatively told Alokha not to cross her lines when talking about Biji. Agastya just ignores Alokha's various orders and 'kasams.' He ignored her when she, on his father's name, told him not to help Meera with her luggage. Other times he gives her dismissive replies when she goes on about various things. Both these instances are not all that common, in this saas-bahu dominated entertainment space.
So I would hope that they also break the norm and what is usually the case in the saas-bahu dilemma, which is that that bahu keeps quiet and doesn't let the husband know of his mother's appalling, sickening and criminal acts and behavior.
