While watching the episode today, it felt that every character was in an emotional turmoil. A confusion. Of what they want and what they need. From Padmini to Madhubala to Sultan to RK to the little Aryan, each person had something to wish for, something to hope for.
Padmini - She wants her daughter's happiness, but not at the cost of her changing into something she's not. She hopes to see that smile on her face again, the smile that reached her eyes and lighted up her heart and soul. Being a Mother, she fears seeing her daughter hurt again. Not because she herself can't take it, but because she knows that another emotional breakdown will shatter her daughter completely beyond repair.
Madhubala - Her love, her self-respect, her free will, everything was snatched away brutally from the man she loved. She had nothing left, nothing to lose. Just a broken heart that kept on hurting every time she saw the same man claiming his rights on her, but not reciprocating the sincere love that she had for him. She wanted to forget everything and move on, but was dragged right back to her dark past. A past she now wants to escape from. She's becoming someone she never wanted to be. But she had promised herself to keep her self respect above love. And now she is on a path that will either make her resign to her fate and walk back to the same road that had turned her life upside down, in hopes that this time around, she maintains a peaceful journey, or she'll fight for her rights till the very end and not let emotions get in the way, making her vulnerable.
Sultan - He is scared to love, scared to let people get a glimpse of his heart, of his emotions, scared to lose the ones close to him. His life expectancy is unpredictable, which prevents him from getting too emotionally attached to anyone. But something in him changed the day he met Madhubala Shamsher Malik. He grew fond of her, admired her, respected her, understood her and in times of need, helped and comforted her. He found a real friend in her. Someone he could rely on to be there for his son when he's gone. Someone he could trust his life with. And he couldn't help falling in love with her. He knows not what to do. He wants to be with her, but doesn't know how. He wanted to tell her, but fate had some other plans. Or maybe it's for the best. Maybe this isn't the right time. Maybe his fate has some whole other plan for him and it played in his advantage to not get carried away in the heat of the moment making him confess his new found feelings for Madhubala. A step he might have later regretted.
RK - He wants the girl he loves, back in his life. The girl he so ruthlessly left at the altar after proudly narrating the tale of his betrayal. The girl he treated as no less than a puppet, pulling the strings of her life as he pleased. But the thought of losing her to another man sparked all those emotions once again that he had long ago forgotten to feel. His only mission in life was to get her, to keep her, failing to realize that all he was giving her was more pain. The doubts, insults and humiliation continued, and it took him getting Madhubala's life in danger, not once, but twice to learn to trust and confess his love to her. How long this love lasts this time, no one knows. Neither Madhubala, nor Rishabh Kundra himself.
Aryan - A little boy with little wishes. A child who hopes to get a proper family one day. Who wants to see his Father, his Sultan, happy. And who wants his Madhubala to share that happiness with them. He finds a friend, a Motherly figure in her. Something that he has yearned all his life. And prays to his God to let her stay with him forever.
Keeping all this aside, it was pleasant to see Sultan at a Dargah. Praying for something for the very first time, and hoping for an answer. And what better a signal could there have been then that of God's himself, making him picture Madhubala and her Dupatta, that has somehow tied him to her. A sacred place and a heartfelt wish, there couldn't be anything wrong or bad about that. Dargah scenes signify purity. If Sultan realizes his love for Madhubala at a Dargah, then there is no way he would ever turn negative or deliberately try to come between Madhu and RK. He may have gotten carried away in the moment and decided to tell Madhu about his feelings right away, but maybe RK coming there at the very moment was a signal from God that it wasn't the time to tell just yet. And maybe his love still needs to be developed fully before he takes it to the step of confessing.
Today's episode showed a whirlpool of emotions and forlorn hopes. Every character has a wish, a last hope, to bring about a final change in their lives. Will they get that change? Or will fate lead them to a different road altogether? Whichever path it is, would be their final destination!
