I've been reading most of the posts written after yesterday's episode and am suprised to see that most of you were singing praises of it barring the ridiculous crowd scene. The episode was cringe-making and I truly felt, for the first time, very embarassed to be a woman and to be watching this show.

I assume most of you on the forum are women and many of you are teenagers; some pre-teens even. What got me worried was that not one post showed disapproval of the treatment of women and how regressive this serial is becoming.

Many of you approved of the fact that Gauri went back to Shiv for the sake of her love. Which is fine. But what about the rest of the nonsense she was spouting to a man who doesn't even love her? That she wants him to live so that HE can have a long, happy and fufilling life with someone else who'll love him more than she can? This is sheer madness. Doesn't Gauri believe that her kind of love is the utmost?

Seriously, we are women of the 21st century with very modern views about the rights of women. None of us, let's be truthful, will ever compromise our lives in this fashion...apart from it being ridiculous, it's impractical and utterly foolish!

I feel many of you on the forum are rather young and yet to experience life. But let me tell you, real love is nothing like this. It's about give and take. Here, it is not only one sided but the giving comes only from Gauri. So what if Shiv treats her with respect? We still can't get away from the truth. That Gauri has to die if Shiv has to live and be with the one who'll make him a happy man. Yes, it is a selfless love on Gauri's side but what kind of person does it make of shiv who's willing to accept such a scarifice?

Of course, many of you reading this will not agree as you think this is ideal love. And Ekta Kapoor is doing everything in her power to promote very wrong ideas about womenkind that one wonders if she hates being a woman herself!

My intention is not to lecture to you.I'm sorry if it sounds like one. Old habits die hard. But I'm simply venting my frustration at Ekta who'll never change! Well, I suppose Gauri being "semi-literate" (whatever that means) is why she can't think straight and intelligently.

LOL, I so totally agree with you.Gauri makes me so angry 😡 She's nothing more than a doormat, one willingly letting people wipe their feet all over her. There's one thing to be selfless and pure, and another to just be a sacrificial lamb being led waywards by people's whims be it Shiv's, the family's, or her fathers.

Gauri doesn't even love herself. How can she claim to love someone else when she doesn't have enough dignity to stand up for herself when she has been wronged?! I am sorry, I'm very VERY disappointed with Gauri's character. 🤢 🤢

Didi I totally agree with you. While it is true that KAA is just a show, it is also true that is being watched by many young impressionable girls as well, and what sort of a message is being sent out? I really don't understand why all the leading ladies in Ekta serials have nothing but tears in their eyes! As well if Gauri loves Shiv and wants to go back with him, is fine! However, the reason should not be that she is ready to die for him, it should have been that she is a girl of today, and belives in making her own destiny. She will not only defeat death but also gain Shiv's love. Why is she putting herself down saying that someone else can love Shiv better, he is so lucky to have someone like Gauri love him! How about some confidence being shown in the heroin, SELF CONFIDENCE!

I think I agree with you. I think most of the members on this forum are young females who are just mesmirized by Iqbal Khan. The way shiv is potrayed in this play is bearly close to any real life character.

To some extent love is blind, but I think in case of one sided love, you cannot stay blind forever. There comes a point in ones love life where you want the other person to reciprocate your feelings, love you like the way you love him. Even when Guari was day dreaming about shiv, she imagined shiv making some moves on her, I mean she does want him to come closer to her and love her back. Therefore, I think that one sided love does not last forever, there comes a point in life where you want the other person to return your feelings. In Gauri case she is so madly in love with him that she cannot imagine to spend her life without shiv, thats why she wants him back in her life and obviously knowing shiv wont come back, she decided to go to him on her own. Right now its her heart leading her all the way and she is hardly thinking with her brain.

For shiv its easy to move on becuase supposedly he already have other girl in his life (waiting for her) thats why it is not that critical for him to be with guari or without gauri. However, Gauri has only shiv in her life, she has already lost Shahank, or let me say, she is already dissed by shahank, now she cannot bear to loose her love and thats why she went back to shiv. But I think once she will see that shiv has someone else in his life it will be tough for her to share her love. This is what usually happen in real, however, since this is just a TV show, it can be twisted in any way possible, and thats why all the forum members are in love with shiv.

That is the worst attitude anyone can have, and no offence, but I've seen a lot of girls stay in abusive realtionship, justifying the mental and emotional abuse with that statement. Love should be based on mutual affection, mutual pride, respect, and understanding and of course passion. No one, however, should EVER compromise with their self respect for the sake of "love", because true love does not call for that kind of compromise.

I completely agree with you. All this self sacrificing, pati parmeshwar bit is just too much. Its so unreal and for a change I would like to see our leading ladies with more spunk. Why oh why do women in our serials behave like this???????????????

Yeah I was so disappointed with Gauri when she said to shiv, after I die I want to still be able to see you from beyond, i want you to be happy with another woman, who can take care of you and love you even more than I can. Is Gauri out of her freaking mind. There is no one who can love Shiv as much as much as she can, the fact that she is willing to die for him proves it. Shiv the peanut brain still cant see it and he should be thanking his doshi kundali because that is how he got gauri. Ip-shit was not willing to make that sacrifice, if she knew that Shiv kundali was doshi, she was not willing to die for him, she wanted another woman to make that sacrifice, is Ip-shit love for Shiv real or is it just convenience. Come on Gauri where is your durga-ma side, show us some guts, tell us you will defy death, tell Shiv that he belongs to her only, and you warn him if she ever catches him with another woman you will cut his you know what off. I would love to see Gauri lay her side of the rules and stick it to Shiv. 👏

Pippa,

My thoughts are the same. I've said the same in my other posts too.
Glad you made this post which was much needed.

I hate the way women are portrayed in Ekta's serials. They are always Forgiving, Sacrificial and Doormats, taking all the crap on earth metted out to them !

My Blood was boiling while watching today's episode. My worst fears came true. I had a feeling that Gauri, being the Protogonist in a Balaji soap, will definitely go back to Shiv one day. All in the name of "Love". And it happened so soon.

Love is not always Sacrificing and always Compromising one's Self respect and Dignity.

I would actually blame Gauri. She is the one who gives chances to all these ppl to walk all over her. A victim becomes one only when she chooses to be.

Like many of you said, i've also noticed that most of the members on this Forum are Teenage girls. They idolise Iqbal Khan or Eijaz Khan and fail to see the reality. Can't blame them. These shows send wrong messages to the youth !

I would like if Alokji gives a Dressing Down to Gauri tomorrow and drill some sense into this girl's head.
