Geet would have left at once but her ticket was booked for 2 days latter & Daadi 's health was also scaring. She wiped her tears & sat next to Daadi.
Daadi ' hume maaf kardijiyen Geet ..daadi cried
Geet smiled weakly ' nahi Daadi aap aisen mat khaiyen
Daadi ' Maan
Geet fluuttered her lashes & looked away.
Daadi's health deteriorated to worse. Dev & Geet had to rush to the hospital.
Maan stayed back in his room. He called the airlines to reschedule his tickets. He wanted to leave the very next day but now wanted to leave only after seeing Daadi back from the hospital. He still didn't go to see her in hospital. He was scared to feel anything. He didn't want relations to get close to his heart & then get hurt, like always.
He couldn't forgive himself for have fallen for that women so hard. How stupid he was.. all their encounters played back in his mind one after the other.. the moments that uncontrolled emotions.. that impeccable pull. He sunk down on the floor.. heart filled with fears.. unknown!!!like something was slipping away.
Geet & Dev just feared it shouldn't be another heart attack.. & the dr confirmed it was not. They sighed in relief. But dr warned strictly not to stress her she was close to one though. They kept her in the hospital for a day more. Dev & Geet came back after picking up Maanav from the day care. The drive was silent. Dev all the while was wondering how to comfort Geet... & Geet had drawn into a deadly silence ever since she had discovered her husband.. which seemed more scary than the loneliness she had build around herself.
Maanav dossed off in her lap. Geet & Dev came in.. Maan starred at them.. a complete family.. he knew he didn't belong anywhere here. He just wanted to know Daadi was fine & he would go far away from all this. Far away.. to no where.. he took a deep breath..
Dev ' bhai Daadi teehk hain. They will discharge her tomorrow.
Maan looked away like it didn't mean anything to him.
Geet carefully took Maanav to the room. Meera rushed in with her cute full term bump.. crying straight into Dev.. yeh sab kya hogaya. Daadi teehk tho hain na
he tried to calm him.. patting her softly.. tumhe iss haal main travel nahi karna chahiya tha
Geets eyes welled seeing her after so many years.. oh.. she looked so adorable.. she smiled seeing them together & hugged Maanav closer, reminded how Meera looked while she was carrying him.
Meera's mom followed. Daadi kaisen hain beta.. her words dropped mid air when she saw Geet holding Maanav. She marched straight to Geet & snatched Maanav from her.. without caring she was waking him up.
A pair of eyes flinched in pain with that behavior towards Geet. He didn't want to feel anything but it hurt him .. hit.. him.. deep down. He didn't want to interfere still he was walking towards her.. he was getting mad at her more.. to always get into situation that irritated him.. forced him to interfere, how could some one just snatch a baby like that.. who was that lady.. wat kind of a man his brother is..letting someone speak to Geet like that.. though the evil part of him wanted to believe she deserved it.
Maanav began to whine in his sleep. Meeras mom irritably shouted at Geet, rula diya na bicharen ko
Meera kitna baar kaha tumhe dur rakho issen aapne parivar se
aur yeh kya foreign jaake vidhwa bhi maang bharne lagi hain
aaren ek bar tho Dev ke maren huin bhai ke baren main socha hota
Meera begged her mom to be quiet.
Maan just stood their seeing her walk into the room hurt, not wanting to answer anyone. She never did. He knew that by now. He held her elbow relating the words spoken... unspoken
yeh sab kya kah rahin thi?
Kya.. she asked coldly..
she is been hearing all this for years but now to hear the same thing when he was right there.. was hurting more, how much more it could hurt, how much more same mean words feel differently hurtful.
the fact was cruelly revealed to him.. so bluntly
he looked at her forehead & every other plainness.. emptiness ..that he had conveniently, deliberately ignored though it was screaming out to him all the while.
Dev took crying Maanav to his room.. Meera dragged her mom to the kitchen & told her to shut her mouth before Maan losses his sense totally.
The storm of cry faded leaving the air clearing engulfed in pain of silence, thick burdened with unbearable guilt, his hard grip around her elbow softened with every passing sec as realization of the impeccable pull to be those vows he took with her!!! she looked at his loosened grip & then at him before going to the guest room. Geet the word died inside leaving him perplexed.
All this while his hands wanted to hold her, his feet were wanting to chase after her.. never knowing she was right their beside him.. all he had to do was take her hand hold it close tight never to leave. A tear escaped the dark pairs discovering that there was something more painful than falling in love with someone who hasn't fallen for you.
Geet had spent her last few years avoiding his thoughts.. but he had eroded a place deep in some corner of her heart just like a sea shell would do by boring against a rock. The making of the place had been her pain. But now shell was safely in the rock. It was lodged & restrain no longer... just as a part of her.
