When did the HP bug bite you?

What I mean is, when did you start reading the books? I'm a very late fan, actually - I started the series only when there were about three or four months left for the release of OotP. A lot of my friends were talking about Harry Potter, and then my cousin told me saw the first movie, and kept talking about it. Thus I decided to see the first movie - then I read book two, and by book three, I was completely hooked. I quickly borrowed GoF from a friend, and started reading. And I know people had to wait three years for OotP, and I only waited three months - but it was still a horrid wait. But I think, for sure, that I became unhealthily obsessed with HP after I became an online fan. And now, even though some of my friends started reading HP way before me, they can easily say that I'm the most obsessed fan they've known. Once my cousin went even as far as to call me "Harriet Potter"! LOL.

Hey! You and I kind of have the same story.. I also became a Harry Potter fanatic not long before the release date of book five.. I had just come to US from Nepal, and my friend told me about HP books. I saw the first movie, and started reading the books. I finished all four books in about 2-3 weeks time, and I also had to wait only one month for the fifth book.. Now, my friend says that I'm more obessed with it than she is, and that she should thank me for it.. 😆

i just got into Harry Potter about mid June of this year. DR hooked me on them. I f the movies are that great i couldn't even imagine the books. I started to read the first book about 5-6 years ago and only came to the part of harry's presents but now i want to start a HARRY POTTER club at my school!

Lets see...I got hooked when I was in 4th grade, which was 4 years ago. I had to read book one for a book report, so when I started reading it, I got hooked.=D

Well i am embarresed to admit that i only started reading it after the book 5 was released. actually my cousin forced me to read it!!!!!!
But anyway its never too late!

Well, I started reading the books very early....
Six months after the first book was released.
It was my niece who introduced me to the book.

Oneday we went shopping and she just stood in front of the shop till I purchased the book. She was just six year old, but from her school friends she knew all about harry potter. After that I got all the books at the time of release itself.

True, waiting for the next book is real torture.

I read book 2 way back... I think in the year 2000... Later for a yr... I did not read any book....

But in 2002, I got book 1, 2, 3 as gift....
Got Book 4 and 5 last year as gift....

And book 6... this year...

I can't remember why, but I didn't start reading HP until right after the 4th book came out. 😕 But ever since then, I've been hooked onto the series.

i started reading in it in class 6th. that was in 2000.i started reading with the third book and after that harry potter became my fav book.
