Mudit And Annie's Cheeku Tales

Every dog has its day. That includes Cheeku, the lovable fluffy miniature pomeranian on Sony TV's Anamika who is a TV star now. She possesses a sixth sense with the help of which she can promptly detect if something is amiss and duly alert everyone by barking out aloud.

The casting director chose her on the basis of her picture. She reports to the sets timely with her trainer Joseph. This one and a half year old dog has won the hearts of her human co-stars on the set and also of the viewers. In fact, fans of the show write in saying they don't want Cheeku to be killed by Anamika.

Cheeku was to be called Romeo on the show. However she was very possessive of her original name and would just respond to Cheeku.

Mudit Nayar who plays Jeet is an animal lover who thoroughly enjoys Cheeku's company. He said, "Not only do I love Cheeku but the stray dogs on the set too. I also made friends with a cat on the set which would follow me wherever I would go."

Mudit informed us that initially they had to face a few hiccups when they started shooting with her. "She took a while to get adjusted to the new environment.

Initially she would roam and run around."

The handsome actor feels that the most interesting scene he had shot with his furry co-star was when a driver was driving backwards and Jeet screams right in time to save her from being crushed under the vehicle's wheels. He feels that the dog got slightly edgy while shooting the Lohri sequence as many drums were beating hard. He added, "He is a sweet and well-mannered dog who obeys her trainer's commands."

Annie Gill who plays Rano has also fallen in love with this cuddly dog. "We have got very attached to her. Now if we tell her 'stay' she will obey our command. Your cast and crew becomes like your family. Cheeku has become like our family member."

Regarding Cheeku's personality, she said, "She is sweet, obedient, timid and easily afraid of loud noise."

Her most fond memory of shooting with her when was she as Rano goes into Jeet's room carrying Cheeku. Later, they both look at Jeet's picture. At that moment, Annie was holding Cheeku lovingly to her cheeks.

Another time Cheeku was in Rano's car when she was looking for Jeet. She was looking into her face while she was speaking which made a very realistic shot as it seemed as if she was actually listening to her. Annie looks back fondly to that scene too.

Cheeku is a very cooperative co-star who is usually a one take actress. She executes her scenes with ease. To top it all she has no starry airs whatsoever (he he).
